I'm with you on this one... it's sounds good, but at times it's a bit repetive... definitely need to listen to it a few times
Metallica - St. Anger (the video/single)
Anyone seen it? I think the video is in circulation on either Kerrang or MTV 2, or if not it soon will be.
I've seen it *shifty* and...I dunno actually. I'm not too bothered about the video as such I'm more interested in opinions of the song. For me:
Positives:
-Hard, fast and heavy as *ahem*...at points
-All those file-sharers seem to have got Lars irked because he plays probably the best I've ever heard him play
Negatives:
-No solo although I can live with that
-Bit repetitive...and it's not like they repeat the better stuff more than the less interesting parts
-James' voice...I think it might be going a bit
Not sure right now...I think it's a good song but not what I was expecting and that's why I'm a bit confused by it. Definite potential to grow on me though.
...anyone else?

Well Metallica did write the book on Hard, fast and heavy as *ahem* They might have written it 2 bass players and 20 years ago, but they did write it So I'm glad they've gone back to that

And Kirk may have learnt fromthe grand Yoda of guitar, and yes he "plays for the song" but I've never really liked his solos, so I'm not anticipating missingit from this song. Looking forward to the album
I haven't heard any of the new stuff yet, but I'm very keen to. Have been listening to 'Whiskey in the Jar' loads atm! lol
