PoF & I went along to this. It's one of those gigs that I've really been looking forward to! Started off with a quick jar at the Intrepid Fox (local to where PoF & I work) before heading off to Brixton for another jar at the Backstage bar also meeting up with Alan - a former work buddy.

Once inside, Queen Adreena were already on stage... but I can't say I paid much attention really Once the support had finished, we did the patent "Down the right and in from the side" that got us pretty close to the front center. Then we waited... then waited some more... by 9.30 I was beginning to think it was getting a bit much. Another 15 minutes and finally the lights dimmed and an intro track started (Carl Orff if I'm not mistaken). Another 5 minute of this before any action on stage. (By this time I was already thinking that the last train home was in jeopardy)

Having waited so long I can happily say the gig itself was utterly fantastic. Highlights for me were "Mobscene" complete with a high kicking Nazi-chick chorus of two (LOL) and "Dope Show" not to mention his glorious version of "Tainted Love" (natch).

Towards the end I was getting brain damage from body surfers who all seemed to use my cranium as a landing zone. So I said "seeya" to PoF and decided to retire to the lounge (i.e. the back) for a rest and a glass of water. Gotta say that the sound at gigs is much better back there! heh.

All I can say is that the timing was perfect as it proved to be the very last song of the show. No encore, just house lights up and that's it. The time was spot on 11pm making the show a bit short at 1 hour 10... but sure was intense So being right by the exit I made a quick get away and was on the first tube out of there with out the usual queue at Brixton Station.

In all, a very memorable event and I am very glad I was there.
