I believe I liked them.

Not entirely productive, but until I can remember if it was them or a band with an album title of the same/similar name, then that's all I've got.

That was the name of my first art exhibition insterlation!

This week, in terms of singles, I know it may be predictable but without any hesitation, it's Limp Bizkit's Eat You Alive. An excellent starter from the new album due on the 23rd of September (I think) Also a good way to start off Mike Smith's Limp Bizkit career.

New bands? I'll be honest, I haven't heard any this week that immediately spring to mind, bar maybe a group called Thrice. I've only heard one track on Scuzz and I haven't a clue if they are new or not. But they seem talented.

Albumwise, I reckon eventhough it is far from new with it coming out in March this year is AFI's 'Sing the Sorrow'. They have had a lot of airply on Scuzz also at the moment. With 'Leaving Song Part 2' being the major player. Good mixing of high pitched (A trend thesedays perhaps?) vocals and hard riffs.

i've heard a lotta good things abou homegrown (namely from one source tho) and keep meaning to check them out but i never get round to it (story of my life that)

Please can i recomment somone too?

i wanna recommend Nerve scottish punk band who've just released thier first full length album called " The Art Of Falling Apart" which is absolutely amazing (and in no way am i biased ) Kinda, edgy punk, similar to 4ft Fingers but slightly more edgier
They're hoping to have a video soon and tour during december so look aout for them

Just to say Davey Havok (AFI) has been singing that way for a looooooooong time

I'd recommend some stuff but about two people here might actually listen to it But still...

Only heard one track of theirs. Slit Wrist Theory and was quite impressed but it really. The video was very much like Funeral for a Friend's 'This Years Most Open Heartbreak'

Must try and get s'more of their stuff. Gotta be honest, I've only really started listening to AFI recently. 'Days of the Phoenix' was a classy tune too.

Ah, Thrice.. Not very new, but well worth checking out. Look out for The Illusion of Safety (which is excellent), and if you like that try The Artist in the Ambulance, too.

I am a little worried as to how you can compare Home Grown to the Alkaline Trio and then use the word "uplifting", since the majority of Trio songs are about a) dying b) feeling like you're dying, or c) wishing you were dead...

Sorry, to me when I listen to music, I listen to the actualy instrumental part rather than the lyrics a lot of the time. The video about the devil kid (I forget the name) the music behind that was fast paced, and (ok kinda) happy...

The song is called "Stupid Kid". That's actually one of the poppier songs they've written. But I agree that a lot of the Trio stuff, if you're just listening to the music, seems really fast and fun. And I guess that's one of the reasons I like them so much. The instrumental parts kinda contrast quite strangely with the lyrics. I really like a song on "From Here To Infirmary" called "I'm Dying Tomorrow", because if you just listened to an instrumental version you would assume it was just another catchy pop-punk song, but when you hear the lyrics you realise it's actually about throwing a party because you're going to die. And to me, that seems like a really clever way to write a song.

But maybe I'm just strange.
