Johnny Cash, the original "Man in Black" has passed away at the age of 71.
Having survived through many hard times, he died in hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, after complications from diabetes, which resulted in respiratory failure.
Its hard to believe that classic songs such as "I Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire" are 50 years old!
More recently, the latest generation would have seen Cash receive six nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards for the song "Hurt"
May he now RIP with his wife who died earlier in the year

Persephone The past doesn't get any better. The past is not the present or the future.
I watched the pre-show to the MTV Video Music Awards where videos were shown of the singers/groups that had been nominated. One of the videos shown was Johnny Cash's Hurt. All I can say is, *wow*. Especially when his wife June appeared, knowing that she had passed away not long after the taping of that video. Now he's gone as well.
