Best drum solo?

My friends in a competition, and we have to find a really hard drum solo so she can get manximum points if she plays really well.

Any ides on a postcard please (or just post below)

I still have to brush up on Rush and Yes

I'll have to ask my colleagues and hubby about drum solos, it's not a strong point for me!

MonSTeR No big eyes! No magic powers! No giant robots!

Anything by Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater. Thei Live in Tokyo stuff is insane.

I'd also recommend tracking down stuff by Terry Bozzio a jazz fusion drummer.

cant your friend just make one up? how can the judges tell whether or not its made up. surely if the technique is good and doesnt sound too bad the judges will like it

Well all I said last night was "best drum solo?" and hubby came out with exactly the same song

Like I couldn't have guessed that would happen!

I seem to remember an extended convo between me and hubby all about shared dodgy musical tastes

Did he see that they're doing some kind of anniversary tour coming up? I would go if it wasn't so expensive...

I treated him to tickets at the NEC (Sept 15th) as a very late birthday pressie (only 5 months after the event

) but we'll only be 11rows from the front and I have to do a crash cd course beforehand
