Possibly the worst idea in music since Avril Lavigne covered Chop Suey... but I'll probably go.
Queen To Tour Next Year
Two of the remaining members of Queen have announced that they'll be touring next year with ex-Free vocalist Paul Rodgers (BBC story here).
It won't be the same, but I'll probably go

As a life-long Queen fan (and one-time card carrying member of the fan club) I do tend to treat the various collaboration attempts with some caution.
But... I heard the Brian, Roger, Paul Rodgers collaboration during the UK Music Hall of Fame programme on the TV a few weeks ago and was quite impressed. Paul didn't try to be a Freddie replacement, sang his own style and it did seem to work - with the possible exception of that fact that no one else seems to be able to sing the "Somebody better put you back into your place" line from We Will Rock You without screwing up the rhythm!
I haven't closed my mind to the possibility of trying to get a ticket, should it actually happen.

28th March, Brixton Academy here we come!
Tickets arrived this morning. The Brixton gig wasn't (originally at least, I don't know if it's since been added) on their tour list and was only open to fan club members and members of the Queen Online site. Allocations of two tickets issued lottery-style and my name came out.

They've also announced a Hyde Park show on the 8th of July.
oh dear god this is bad news....! everyone who knows me, knows my feelings on Brian May. In my opinion, and i hope i don't offend anyone here, i just think that he completely whores himself around all over the place, he appears on every music thing going like 'hi i was once in Queen you know'
To me it just feels like he does cash in on the success of Queen a hell of a lot, and while yes, he's entitled to do so...i can't help but get really annoyed when i see his perm gracing my tv screen every five minutes!! arrrgh! hate.him. give it up!
I think this all started after the Five cover of We Will Rock You...Queen were one of my favourite bands when i was a little girl, i grew up listening to them and that cover was pure evil!
ahem....

I'll post more later as I've got to get up fairly early and get sorted to fly to Scotland for work.
