I think this is still the same day/night that tara was murdered
by Emma
Or maybe he came back for Tara's funeral or something... although the latter is not as fun or cool
Two to go
I was expecting big things this episode which I don't think quite came off. But very enjoyable nonetheless, and still a possible humdinger of an ending to come.
I think it was the explanations (which were needed) about why Willow couldn't just do anything she wished which slowed things down a bit.
I liked the "closure" with Rack. I guess as a "pusher" of sorts it may have felt "right" to take him down (I presume he's dead, but you never know!!!)
Was he human?
If so has Willow definitely got no way back?
I can't see a "normal" Willow being able to cope with the guilt. Could be the last we see of her?
I couldn't see a way for Buffy and Willow to square off if it was magic vs. physical powers, so it was great to see them slugging it out. Wasn't it a bit too convenient for Buffy to take a quick break though whilst Anya was knocked out?
"I'd like to test that theory" yayyy go ASH!! I hope that was Ripper speaking and not Giles!
And what about Dawn? Was all that torment Willow gave her just for the effect of building up Willow's bad personna, or is the "ball of energy" thing going to be relevant?
Well for once I'm not going looking for spoilers. Can't wait for the Finale

Thought this was a really good episode.
Liked the fight scenes between Dark Magic Willow and Buffy.
Good to see Giles back in Sunnydale.

My theory is that if the Watcher's Council are worth their salt at all they would have been able to sense the disturbance in the Force (I know, wrong show, but about the same thing) that Willow was creating, and even if Giles isn't really working for them he would be the obvious person to send back, either by mojo or private jet. After all, he's obviously got some serious mojo from somewhere so I'm guessing there's backup somewhere.

(quotes)OK, this creates my next point
All this with Tara being killed and Willow turning has supposedly all only happened in a matter of days - so *when* exactly did someone tell Giles in England (or more to the point who) for him to suddenly turn up like that
So I'm being picky - but he did have to have time to get from England back to Sunnydal
I'm trying to remember this properly. Did Buffy actually *fail* to find Rack's before? She took Spike because he told her she couldn't, but didn't they find Willow and Dawn outside anyway? So maybe she could sense it really?

Naww, she was unable to find Rack's earlier so shouldn't now.
Either that, or she beat up a passing demon and got it to find the entrance for her
I agree that it seems like it's Willow in there - her speech at Rack's where she talks about 'Willow' in the third person initially seems to contradict this but then she slips into 'the only thing I had going for me', and I think the third person is just an attempt to distance herself from the 'loser' she feels she was.

Regarding Willow's insults, is this really Willow talking, or the magic? The whole VampWillow thing implies the former, which then means Willow's been keeping a whole lot of bitterness buried somewhere...
As for the verbal vitriol, don't forget that the last time Willow lost someone she loved she was almost turned into a vengeance demon for unwittingly taking out her bitterness on those she loved...
And how did Spike get to Africa so fast.

I agree that the timing is all going funny, but I'm actually prepared to accept that as a natural result of a) narrative necessity, and b) the awesome levels of magic that Willow is conjuring.
Oh, yeah, and also OH MY GOD!
What an episode. I need the next one. Download, Grave; download like the wind!
Great episode with terrific entrance from Giles. Has anyone just considered that his apperance may have just been coincidence and he had popped over for a visit (which JtB hinted at). Or, as White Hart suggested, and what occurred to me, the Watchers Council somehow knew what was going on and sent Giles back over to help out.
In any event, Willow is too far gone now to see her coming back to her old self. If she is to be saved, it would take a lot of work and I can't see it happeneing. I think this is Joss shaking up the whole Buffy-verse before the start of the final season.
Been a very clever season this. Some fans have bemoaned the fact that it appeared directionless with no real 'Big Bad' for the Scoobies to fight and defeat. And then, BANG!, in the last few eps the BB is one of their own.
Can't wait for the finale next week

That was the one that bugged me...

Where Giles is concerned, I've lost track of how many times he's uncovered "portents of the end of the world." He probably had a good idea something was up before it started. And if he's as powerful as Willow (which is implied by his appearance), maybe he could do the teleport thing?
Buffy finding Rack: how about Anya? She could have located it, but I cannot remember if she was available at the time...
Absolutely loved this ep especiall Giles appearing (And wow didn't he look gorgeous *drools*)
One thing spoilt it for me - they spend so much on flashy lights and makeup sfx, but they can't make the mannekin they had strapped to teh top of the truck look real - i was howling with laughter every tim ethey shot 'willow' from behind in that scene
Can't wait for next week... I spoiled though Darn my inquisitiveness

I liked the little parody of "Becoming part 2"'s spike like of :
"Don't want to hurt you......... doesn't mean i won't"
but instead of spike saying it to dru, it was buffy saying it to willow, made me feel all nerdy inside to realise that

I'm TERRIFIED about what Joss might do to Willow. I know she's gone WAY evil and everything, but jeez... It's _WILLOW_...
Terribly excited about tonights episode.
And with the end of last weeks ep, I was like YAY!! GOoooooooooooooooo GILES!!!! I, too, was wondering when he was going to turn up.

I feel somewhat vindicated in having initially guessed (from the bit where she goes after Glory in S5) then read spoilers and finally been proved right about the Willow/BB thing, especially as it appeared that she would be/wouldn't be and then finally was.

I'm a little dissappointed in Joss for going down this common route. (I'm kinda waiting for Spike to turn round and say, "no Buffy... I am your Father"
He's an X-men fan we all know with little tributes all over the show, so taking the "Dark Phoenix" story almost made sense, I'm just pleased that he did it so WELL Far better than the lame Angel story line that S3 became
The bit where Willow goes to the police station and the cop's coffee is disturbed by her coming... anyone else reminded of Jurassic Park??
LOL, well you know how Joss likes his popular culture references
