No, actually, the 2nd season is framed for 3:4 but protected for widescreen (unlike S3, which was broadcast letterboxed in the US, and is definitely meant to be seen that way). The extra picture on the widescreen DVDs is a bonus, but not essential, and there are apparently several errors in the sides of the picture (such as being able to see David Boreanaz in the mirror in 'Judgement', so I've heard).

I bought the DVDs, big surprise that. Bet that C4 mke major cuts, probably lossing at least one third of the entire series (ie, going pan & scan as Angel is shot wide-screen)
On the subject of cuts, they kept the hanging scene in 'Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been?' intact, which Sky cut, so I'd be surprised if anything else goes. This is, after all, the channel which brings us 'The Sopranos' in a similar timeslot...
I know what I said before, but I do think rather than looking for things to complain about, we should be happy that the show is finally getting the treatment it deserves. And oh, that was a great episode wasn't it?
