LOL around about this point pre-season for the last two seasons this rumour's floated around - I'm fairly confident it's no truer this time round than last, but it's still funny

You're not going to enjoy next season Rae!

oh god i hope not...i really don't care much for Dawn and can't see the show going back to the high school years... fingers crossed that it won't happen.
and then...
scifi.com's Sci Fi Wire talked to Mr. Whedon about this, according to Dark Horizons...
"We're going to see a lot of old faces. A lot of them. And it's going to be ... for a very particular reason that I will not explain to you. But it's going to be a lot of fun". These new faces are to include Glory and Warren. Interesting...
And if they can get her, Eliza Dushku as Faith will be there. "Well, hopefully she's going to be integral. But ... nothing has been set. ... We know we'd love to have her back, and we've been talking to her".
Whedon also confirmed things will 'lighten up' next season, helped by the rebuilt high school which Dawn will attend.
Apparently, somebody casts a spell causing everyone who's died because of Buffy to come back to life. This would explain why both Amber Benson (Tara) and Mark Metcalf (The Master) were reported to have signed on for some episodes next season (13 each IIRC.) Also explains Glory and Warren.
Except that the only one of those who died because of Buffy was the Master...

Unless it's like in the episode "The Wish" and all the indirect consequences are taken into account too? With rumours and spoilers there's often a lot of leeway that you have to give them, both on how true they are and how accurate they are.

Yeah he's been known to say a few porkies, but then if something like a contract has been discussed with Ms. Dushku, then maybe he's just having to go along with something maybe her agent has already announced or something I don't know. And he definately has a soft spot for the girl.

It's very hard to know whether to take what Joss says seriously. He's generally not keen on spoilers, so it seems odd that he's apparently giving so much away. And he has been known to lie before.
No doubt at full season rate or higher... </cynical>

SMG has supposed to have had her contract extended to S9 but will not appear in all the episodes.
Woohoo!! *dances*

Spikeo told me that Eliza has confirmed a total of 8 episodes split between Buffy and Angel for the upcoming seasons!!!
