I can confirm that Sunnydale High reopens on the same site, and there are sightings of (creepy) dead people. Both Buffy and Dawn carry cell phones now, so when they get separated and Dawn gets in trouble (must be Tuesday lol) it scares off said dead baddies... The principal *is* attractive (tho a bit creepy). He admits to Buffy that he was told to "read her file" but he then offers her a job as peer counsellor.

Sunnydale High re-opens on the site of the original, all goes swimmingly until people start seeing dead people. Dawn joins up with two other students at the school (Kit (goth) and Carlos (bully), both reccuring characters) and some ex-burger-flipper ninja-cheerleader turned school outreach-PTA-type-person, to fend off the demons.
The new principle is an nice, attractive, youngish black guy who knows about Buffy's past. Goody? Baddy? Who knows.
I take it the wild feed's available then

Just watched the season premiere so I can confirm "rumors"
I think this is related to the slayers-in-training stuff.
Confused about the opening sequence in "Istanbul". No familiar characters involved so don't know the purpose. Time will tell.
there's a bunch of cloaked figures (can't tell if they're men or women) and they chase and kill an unarmed woman can't see how it relates to slayers in training *shrug*

Ah, have you read 'pretty maids all in a row' a story involving Spike killing 3 slayers in waiting as a present for Dru. He knew who they were so i guess so do these people

Thank you Nemesis for posting your theory on the slayers in training. I wonder how the baddies *know* who will be the next slayer. *shrug*
Yeah! i know the charater, just not the spelling!!! thanks!

When Willow told Giles he was "going all Dumbledore on her" , that was a reference to the character in the Harry Potter books & movie
nope haven't read the book. I'll look for it next time I'm in the bookstore.

Just watched ep7, woah! This one's pretty serious! Joyce, Warren, Tara (speaking through Cassie, who is also dead (in ep4) ), plus some guy who sorts went to school with Buffy (tho she doesn't remember him) all come back to (I'm guessing) warn (and taunt!) the living.
by Callum
Amber Benson may be back, though not as Tara. Faith is expected to return, as are the remaining two-thirds of the troika. Guest appearances of villains (inc Warren, the mayor and Glory) in ep 1 when a shapeshifty-hallucinationy-thing assumes their appearances.
7.7 -- Conversations With Dead People -- people see dead people... possible appearances of Tara and Joyce. Jonathon and Andrew are back, one of them dies. The owls are not what they seem (no, hang on...)
7.8 -- Sleeper -- Spike's up to his old tricks, sucking bloods and siring vamps, but whether this is of his own volition or if he's controlled by the shapeshifter/first evil is unclear.
Around about ep 8/9/10 things start to get *serious*
I'm definitely enjoying this new season already - far better opening than season 6's first few eps that's for sure

just watched the first and second eps of buffy and wow, joss has got himself back on form!!!!
I'd got sick of Spike being over the top in the previous few seasons. I thought the whole soul thing was extreme, but it has been worked in so far very well. The madness thing is very quirky - and must be very similar to what Angel went through in the couple of hundred years leading up to meeting Whistler.
The image of Spike smouldering on the cross was incredible, i'm not a big fan of Spike but he was awsome in this ep.
I love this theory, I actually wasn't analysing the opening episodes - more comparing it with the first ep of Alias with the running, music and the pink hair!
My theory on the slain girls in both episodes is that they are slayers in waiting, the hooded men being acolites of the big evil abrewing. If they kill all the waiting slayers, then when they go after Buffy and kill her there will be no one strong enough to beat their evil, any new slayers called will be too young and untrained. this idea brings in Faith as she will be attacked while in prison, brake out and come to sunnydale to assist Buffy, But maybe the first evil will take on Faiths form and Buffy wont know which one to trust!!! oh i love how my brain works!!
If slayers-in-waiting are chosen at birth (as it seems they are - Kendra was raised as a Slayer from a very young age), then there can only be so many of them who are old enough to do the job. Kill enough of them and you'd have to wait another 15 years or so for another one to grow up..

But surely if the girls were slayers-in-waiting then as soon as one of them were killed another would replace in one long line
