I used to love saturday mornings - the Monkees followed by Banana Splits - especially The Arabian Knights cartoon - with the donkey that turned into a tornado when you pulled it tail - and the magician - 'Size of an elephant!'
Saturday Morning Classic Cartoons
I remember the days of waking up at 6am on a Saturday morning to watch some of the best television ever....Transformers, M.A.S.K, Centurions, Samuri Pizza Cats, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Thundercats, Another one that was set in a forest with some beavers and a guy called Cyril Sneer??, Trap Door, Bucky O'Hare and so many others.
I know that a lot of people say that Trumpton and Bill & Ben are the original classic childrens programmes but to me these are the classics. What classic cartoons (80's ) can you think of and what do you think of the ones I've mentioned?

I used to watch Thundercats, and Batman, but one that sticks in my mind, was one my dad used to get for me on video, called "Choppy and The Princess". No one else remembers it, but it was my fave programme on earth as a kiddie.
Dungeons & Dragons rocked! My CB handle used to be Shadow Demon
I loooved Thundercats! Liono! Shnarf! Yay! Thunder, thunder, thunder, Thundercats! Bet it would be very odd if I saw it now.
Trap Door was wonderful - I've got a video of that lurking about somewhere. Big blue plasticine blob who was the flunky for some wierdo that you never saw, in a big spooky castle. What was the name of the narrator again?
Dungeons and Dragons was ace - I never knew at the time that it was based on a huge gaming industry!
And of course there were the infamous He-man and She-ra!
That was the Raccoons, if I remember rightly. I wasn't quite as impressed with that one.

Trap Door is well cool! I've got a couple of videos of it. The narrator was the late, great Willie Rushton!

80's childhood revival! Woohoo!
I'm sure they made an all-new funked-up series of He-Man sometime in the 90's. I seem to remember it was terrible. They'll never recapture the magic of the original so they should leave it alone. It's *my* He-Man, all mine, leave it alone, you can't have none!! /me has a tantrum
