Speaking as a one-time ardent role-player, I thought Dungeons and Dragons was utterly execrable. How on Earth could you have anything D&D-related without bloody and messy bodycounts higher than a small war every week?!? Not to mention the looting of dead bodies etc.
Saturday Morning Classic Cartoons
I remember the days of waking up at 6am on a Saturday morning to watch some of the best television ever....Transformers, M.A.S.K, Centurions, Samuri Pizza Cats, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Thundercats, Another one that was set in a forest with some beavers and a guy called Cyril Sneer??, Trap Door, Bucky O'Hare and so many others.
I know that a lot of people say that Trumpton and Bill & Ben are the original classic childrens programmes but to me these are the classics. What classic cartoons (80's ) can you think of and what do you think of the ones I've mentioned?

I'm sure they made an all-new funked-up series of He-Man sometime in the 90's. I seem to remember it was terrible. They'll never recapture the magic of the original so they should leave it alone. It's *my* He-Man, all mine, leave it alone, you can't have none!! /me has a tantrum
ahhh the days of cartoons ulyses 31 with all the blue people floatinh in the air !(why?) cities of gold, the advebtures of willy fogg, dangermouse and of course the one and only hong kong phooey, number 1 super guy !!!!!
Anyone seen the new series of all-time uber-classic Transformers? That Armada, or something... what a load of h********! They've gone and "japanised" it, made it all crappy 'n' stuff. Me no like! [/geekyrant]
Yeah I've seen a couple of episodes Alan and it's not a patch on the original...it's all based on the little robots(digicons?) and is pretty crappy..I wish Boomerang or one of the otehr cartoon channels would show old eps of Transformers, He-Man, Ewoks Adventures, Droids, Pole Position to name but a few *sigh*
Minicons It is pretty much suckville compared to the original, they're all so wussy compared to the original.. Laserbeak is now a minicon autobot too!
Damn straight Milky, I remember that. Hmmm, let's have a big fight (were they swordfights? I can't remember.) while stood on top of a jet fighter going at high speed through the freezing, oxyge-less vacuum of space... somehow I don't think so!

If you want to discuss classic cartoons, then look no further than:
Battle of the Planets
Mark (voiced by Kasey Casem who also did Shaggy in Scooby Doo), Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keeyop ably assisted by 7Zark7 in their attempts to foil the machinations of the evil Zoltar.
I *so* wanted a Phoenix with detachable vehicles to play with when I was a kid.
Happy days.

Now theres a series with a hitory, I think it was knows as Gatchaman in Japan and had a totally different (and all together darker story) wihch was butchered on its western release.
Tis sadly true.
They actually cut so much that 7Zark7 was introduced by the American company to narrate in order to ensure the remaining footage made some kind of sense.
It was still great though.

I remember liking Battle Of The Planets as a kid but I've watched a couple of episodes on Bravo and not really enjoyed it One cartoon I'd love to get the chance to see again is Voltron but I've never managed to find a DVD/Video of the episodes
Hey, lets not forget the return of the classic cartoon Roobarb, Saturday mornings @ 8:25 on channel 5.
