Interesting...very interesting....

Spike's visions (hallucinations? whatever...) are of a figure who keeps morphing as it talks to him, first appearing as Warren
by Wobag
Note at the end of 7.1 Spike is tortured by visions (that almost certainly arent visions as the actors are returning), and that the visons say something like 'im going back, to the beginiing'
I think I like the sound of where we're going here, actually get back to some of the mythos which underlies the series, answer a few of the questions still left dangling from earlier eps. However, given that this season is supposed to be less dark than last I doubt they'll explore the possibilities too much.
Spike: She [Buffy] won't understand, she won't understand at all
Warren: Of course she won't understand, Sparky. I'm beyond her understanding. She's a girl, she's sugar and spice and everything, useless unless you're baking, I'm more than that, I'm more than flesh...
Warren morphs into Glory
Glory: ...more than blood. I'm... you know, I don't think there's a human word fabulous enough for me. Soon my name will be on everyone's lips, assuming their lips haven't been torn off. But not just yet, but that's alright, though....
Glory morphs into Adam
Adam: I can be patient, everything is well within parameters. She's exactly where I want her, and so are you number 17. You're right where you belong...
Adam morphs into the Mayor
The Mayor: So what didya think, you'd get your soul back and everything would be Jim Dandy? A soul is slipperier than a greased weasel, why do you think I sold mine? Well you probably thought you'd be your own man, and I respect that...
The Mayor morphs into Drusilla
Dru: But you never will... you'll always be mine... you'll always be in the dark with me, singing our little songs. You liked our little songs, don't you? You always liked them, right from the beginning...
Dru morphs into the Master
The Master: And that's where we're going, back to the beginning. Not the bang, not the word, the true beginning. The next few months are going to be quite a riot, and I think we're all going to learn something about ourselves in the process. You'll learn you're a pathetic smuck, if it hasn't sunk in already; look at you, trying to do what's right, just like her. You still don't get it.. it's not about right... it's not about wrong...
The Master morphs into Buffy
Buffy: It's about power
Well, that ep seemed to be pretty dark. I suspect what they meant by that is the kind of dark we had in S6, where it was all about the various ways the characters were screwed up, rather than anything external. They've never been afraid of darkness in the past, and I see no reason why they'd start now.
However, given that this season is supposed to be less dark than last I doubt they'll explore the possibilities too much.
Wouldn't we all?

I'd be glad to see her on the screen though.
