I'm not aware of any reliable evidence, or even strong speculation from reliable sources, to this effect.
Sarah to stay on?
I'm almost certain I read somewhere that SMG had decided to sign on for another 2 series after season 7. This was fairly recently (within the last 2 weeks?)
This is totally at odds with everything else I've heard/read - can anyone lend weight to this rumour?

SMG has a habit of kicking up a stink about leaving Buffy when her contract is up for renewal, then the studio offers more money and she stays on. She did say this time that she was looking to spend more time doing films, and rumours popped up about a part-time role to enable her to do her hollywood bit.. Maybe it's that?
Quite a few of SMG's films have turned out to be kinda stinky, and I don't think she'd cut-off the Buffy safety-net just yet..

To be honest, IMO, the show can quite happily continue on without her involvement now. I think I said once before that the show was now much more than just about Buffy. Yes, she still plays an important part but the show doesn't revolve around her as it once did.
If the show doesn't end at the end of S7, and with Eliza's movie career not exactly taking off, she might jump at the chance of taking over the mantle. She would certainly bring to the role of the Slayer the whole 'Batman' 'tude with the whole dancing along the psychotic divide. And I always considered her the better Slayer since she was introduced in S3. Perhaps it harks back to the Batman V Superman argument in that I prefer my heroes motives slightly blurry as opposed to the cleancut, wholesome approach.
Anyway, I'm at risk of going off topic. But I think you get my point. SMG is no longer the be all and end all of the Joss-verse.

See I'm not completely convinced that the show could go on without SMG. it not that she's my favourite character by a long way and I agree that there are much stronger parts than hers (Spike and Willow kinda dominated much of Season 6) but for a start they'd have to change the title of the series for a start and I think a lot of people would no longer feel as if they were watching Buffy if it wasn't called Buffy.
Maybe it would work and I know the die-hard fans would follow it down the no-SMG road but people don't generally like major change in any form.
