Um, Farscape is shown first on BBC2. In fact, the end of Season 3 was broadcast here before the US..

First, they go and cause a rather negative response (spot the understatement) by cancelling Farscape (it has to be said, I like it quite a bit, even though I couldn't watch it much 'cos I don't have Sky/Cable)
Damn Sc-Fi! Damn them to hell!!
What is the problem with the Sci-Fi channel and cancelling great shows?

Chances are that it was due to bad ratings, but if I get the right impression from their programme schedule, they don't show it anymore, and rarely showed it when they did! Which hardly gives much room for great ratings now, does it?
Does anyone agree, or am I making no sense whatsoever as usual?

First off the Invisible man series was cancelled ages ago I enjoyed the interplay between the two leads.
The US Scifi channel (the UK is a differnt company) tend to have a habit of cancelling their highest rated shows at the time The Invisible Man was one of the top rated shows. Farscape was cancelled due to the parent company of SciFi US not wanting to put the money up for the show that it required and I should imagine a few internal politics.

From what I've read Farscape was cancelled because of a ratings drop on the US Sci-Fi channel caused by the 'suits' messing with the formula of the show.
The same thing is probably going to happen to Stargate SG1. This was supposed to be the final series (the 6th which is on Sky 1 just now) but the US Sci-Fi channel wants a 7th series. The problem is that Richard D Anderson (O'Neill) doesn't want to do another series as he doesn't like the commute between Vancouver(where it's filmed) and LA(where his daughter lives). If a 7th series goes ahead it could have a lot of episodes where O'Neill isn't present. If that happens and people start switching off because another of the original characters is gone then the ratings will drop and Sci-Fi will cancel the show...you heard it here first (well maybe not )

Sorry about the inaccuracies on my behalf, I've only seen a few episodes of Invisible Man, and I don't have Sky/Cable (along with access to the Sci-Fi channel), so I only just found out it was cancelled, and thus didn't know that Farscape was shown on BBC first. But thanks for increasing my somewhat minute knowledge!
Will Sci-Fi (the UK one!) be repeating any episodes? ('cos I know a few people with Sky and a VCR who would possibly be willing to record a few episodes if I asked them nicely enough)

On a related note to cancelling shows, it always annoys me that a lot of US shows are techically cancelled before they have the chance to hit any other shores
Nowhere Man I used to really liked and that was pulled in the states before we got to see any of the series in the UK. I think the same happened to Good vs Evil. And now Birds of Prey seems to be falling to the same victim
