Looking at the Hide behind the sofa thread reminded me of a TV show that I'm sure I didn't make up!

It must have been in the early to mid 80s and I think it was called Tripods. I seem to recall they were like the machines from War of The Worlds and they captured people by grabbing them and pulling them up into the body of the tripod. And laso when they got killed, green stuff came out of them.

I think all that is right. I do remember hiding behind the settee whenever it came on and my dad had to get me out and put his arm round me until it was over.

So, am I delerious or dis this programme exist? Website evidence would be good
