T21 Top 10 TV

Following on from a thread I started in the Music Forum (and a rash comment I made the other night about the greatest TV program ever) I thought it would be fun to ask what everyone's favoutite ten TV shows of all time was, and to compile alist from it.

Again, like the Music thread, they shouldn't just be your current favs, but shows that have made you who you are, and shaped your taste. Eg. - I prefer DS9, but TNG got me into Star Trek in the first place, hence its listing here.

To start things rollins, here's mine (in no particular order):

Been a while since I updated this, so here's the scores on the door:

In order of votes (5 minimum):
Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Angel
Star Trek: Next Generation
The X-Files
Blackadder
Red Dwarf
The Simpsons
Stargate SG1
The Young Ones

Buffy, unsurprisingly is the pack leader. 22 votes, 9 more than Angel, which itself has jumped up to second since last time. Most interesting, to me, is that only two of this top nine don't really belong to the cult/sci-fi grouping - The Simpsons and The Young Ones, and both are comedies dealing with disfunctional home settings.

Cool list though, I'm sure you'll all agree.

I'd say The Young Ones was a cult show personally.

Also... Stargate SG1?

Otherwise you might as well say 'American Sci-Fi'. ;oP

In which case I think I will have to go for the 6 O'clock News on BBC 1.

Even though it declined in quality towards the end, the final episode remains a vivid memory ending in true Annie Hall fashion on a montage and an old standard (Ray Charles?).
