I don't mean to be a git, but could you tell me what happened, 'cos I missed it, and C4 don't seem to be repeating it at all...
Smallville S2.1
I know Smallville is already quite a way into Season 2 on E4 but, seeing as I don't have satellite/cable, I thought it deserved a mention in this forum.
Oh, how good it is to see this show back! Having to wait almost three-quarters of a year to find out what happened to Lana was just too much!
I'm glad that they did quite an extended recap at the beginning because I had forgotten some of what had happened at the end of last season. As an ep in itself, it was good. The problem with having to wait so long between seasons (having not re-watched any eps inbetween), meant that it took me a while to get back into the show and re-acquaint myself with the characters. But once I had, it was like catching up with old friends again. And this season promises to be a good one!
Poor old Chloe! She tried the old reverse psychology on Clark and it back-fired big time. She knew he held a candle for Lana and to find out he had 'abandoned' her at the ball to rescue Lana was a heartbreaker. And it was particularly poignant to watch her delete all the pictures of her and Clark from her computer. Although, it looked like she stopped short of deleting them totally, just putting them in the recycle bin.
It was a pity that Nixon was killed off like he was. I'm sure he could have been useful for a few more eps but we know now that Lex is capable of murder, even if it was to save Jonathan (although I'm not sure if it was a wholly good act or whether he was bumping Nixon off to ensure another of his dodgy dealings wasn't publicly revealed).
We saw earlier Lex consider being a passive part in the death of his father. Now we know he can be an active participant and he has now crossed over that line and begun his inevitable journey to the 'Dark Side' (the expression on his face after killing Nixon said it all.)
And then we had Clark's revelation to his father that, while he was saving Lana, he felt as if he was flying up the tornado....
So, a nice ep to begin with setting up the forthcoming season nicely.

smallville rocks
Edited for spoilers
As for this episode... I was disappointed that they let the clark/chloe thing drop so quickly, there could have been a lot of interesting milage in that one. On the whole i didn't think it was a great season opener, and definately the weakest of the series so far (Yep, i watch on E4 so i'm trying not to say too much in case i get my eps mixed up!)

Yep, i watch on E4
I'm a newbie to Smallville, so i'm still learning about who's who and what, and i'm enjoying this season so far. I have this week's E4 ep on tape to watch later.
Back to season opener.. Clark and Chloe, that looked so promising in the s1 finale and look what happened.. i like her character a lot.
And may i say, Tom Welling is very, very purty

I was really excited that it was back on, and it was great!
I still love Chloe v. much, and feel really sorry for her with the whole Clark thing.
The bit where he thought he was flying, I thought that would happen, that he discover a new flying power to save Lana, but he didn't exactly discover it properly, or use it properly, but I s'pose that is what is to come.
The acting was great, except I thought Tom Welling was a bit crap. I think it's kinda clear that he got the starring role on looks rather than acting talent.
