I had been looking forward to it all week. Nice to see the lovely Keifer on the small screen again!

I thought it was an extremely clever premise, I shall be watching every week!

Dan, don't even get me started about Band of Brothers (or Band of Totty as its known in my house!) I'm waiting desperately for the DVD to come out!

I have high hopes, and am intrigued by the idea. However, I'm not convinced by the way the story threads have been introduced. Yet. See what happens next week.

I actually missed "24" on Sunday but I shall be watching the re-run on Friday night on BBC Choice at 10.30pm

Fantastic. Two thumbs way up.

Brilliantly written, stylish direction and a neat premise. Kiefer managed to underplay every line and still dominate the screen and the plane sequence wouldn't have been out of place in a James Bond film.

Once again, America shows the rest of us how to make intelligent, entertaining, adult drama. With no Sopranos for 12 months or so, finally a show that may fill the void.

I was impressed by the show, looking forward to how it all hangs together. Been reading some reviews on US sites for a while and it all sounds good, very pleased the Beeb picked it up so quick

I taped the EP on Sunday and hadn't deceided whether or not I was gonna bother watching it. But after such high praise, I'll make sure I watch it tonight.

Okay, missed the first episode, so I'm going to have to borrow a copy when I have time to watch TV again. But lets just check - premise is, this is one day in Kiefer's life, and each episode is done in real time, covering one hour of that day?

Okay, so at some point we're going to get three or four episodes where they just leave the camera on him while he sleeps the entire episode, right?

One day in Keifer's life [as a counter terrorism agent attempting to foil an imminent assassination attempt on a presidential candidate] each episode covering one hour of that day.

Kind of makes a difference.

Add in a couple of major sub plots and Keifer aint getting any sleep that day (well maybe a power nap during a commercial break).

But anyway its nice to see Keifer back on form and Dennis Haysbert (first time seen him since the excellent Now and Again)

At the moment superb plotting acting ect.

Well, let's see.. Characters that I believe and care about? Plots with some depth? Admittedly I've only seen one episode, but I saw no sign of these things, and as I said the format of the show means that they're unlikely to happen.

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it, it's great for what it is, but it is limited by its genre and its format. So I will continue to watch and enjoy, but I can't imagine wanting to see it twice..

Finally got around to watching the first 3 episode's and IMO it's fantastic....Can't wait till Sunday.

I think 24 has to be judged on a number of levels.
Firstly I think it needs to be judged on the quality of the
drama. That is - does it hold your interest, with good acting good direction and a good, well told story.
Then it can be judged on the 'gimmick' of being 'real-time', as I believe it is possible this may herald a lot more similar shows in the future.
Clearly we are only 4 shows in. Early days therefore. My opinion so far is that the acting is well done, the direction also good, but so far the plot has a fairly large number of holes relating to actions of characters and also a number of glaringly silly technical issues. However, I am finding the entire thing so intense I will ignore those and just enjoy it....life is for enjoying after all.

As for the second aspect, I for one am impressed with this first incarnation. I can only imagine how badly it could have been done (especially by some of our UK broadcasters).
The US has also recently started a sitcom with Julia Louis Dreyfus (from Seinfeld) which has a clock counting down from 22 minutes for the duration of the programme. Odd.
Perhaps 24 might have been better if it had been made by HBO, and therefore have no ads but there you go.

I hope we dont have another Murder One on our hands - which I seem to recall as the first series (built around a single case) being great, but then the second series not getting any interest.....

Murder One was indeed a stunningly good series, the first one, and now I have caught 24 I shall continue watching. What I saw was extremely well done.

showing the 1st 4 episodes in a row....
Ideal if you started late.
Do you think they will keep doing that through the series
Can you imagine near the end.....15 hours or so to catch up
on before you can watch the last episode

BTW a few weeks ago when I was in the US I caught half an
episode as it was broadcast over there. I think around 4pm.
Of course I didnt know who was who then....
Should be interesting when I am back over there in a couple
of weeks. Might have to try to avoid watching to make sure I dont see any spoilers that would now make some sort of sense.

Now all my mates can watch it and know what I'm raving about everyone Monday morning

Although I've seen the last 3 episodes, I'm still going to sit down and watch them all again on Saturday when I finally watch 12.00-1.00am. It is fantastic - dont you just love Kiefer "on the edge"?

Aargh! I keep missing it and my brother says it's ace...and this Saturday I'm visiting the inlaws and I want to tape 24 *and* Man and Boy...need more video recorders!!
