Which ep do you mean by that? For me 'Triangle' was by far the worst episode of that year, but it still not as bad as Sesaon 4 Beer Bad and season 3's Beauty and the Beasts.

5 had a great finale but also the 'worst episode ever'.
What is your favourite season?
Question is in the subjectÂ… what is your favourite season of Buffy?
At present, mine would be Season 2. It had some naff episodes, but it also had some fantastic ones, IÂ’m also a fan of good story arcs, not single episodes and Season 2 had the fantastic Angelus arc.
The other seasons have been good and Season 3 had some fantastic episodes, but for me, the main story arc wasnÂ’t as good and didnÂ’t have as much impact as the Season 2 one.

Someone would have to pin my eyes open before I would sit through that again.
Like they'd want to bother! Some people have no soul!
Season 2 was the best without a doubt. I never really thought about which was my next favourite season. Being asked now, I'd have to say the current one. It has everything I enjoy from a weekly series like Buffy and continues to get better each week.
For a long time I sat and watched Buffy as it was just that ... Buffy. I now find myself back to looking forward to each new episode (and the teasers are hilarious!)

It's a close run thing between Seasons 2 and 3. I think Season 3 has the best eps overall, but Season 2 wins with the big old finale (I don't know why, I was always a little disappointed by the finale of season 3)
Like most people, I really disliked season 4, but, unlike most people, I loved Season 5.

What??? I thought 'The Body' was the most emotionally wrenching ep ever (apart from the daft ending). What did you dislike about it, Inc??

I'd say S2, although it's a close run with 3. I have to say that I thought the second half of S5 (after Riley left) and what I've seen of S6 so far were as good although very different. You don't get the classic Buffy feel and I would go so far as to say that it's become a very different show, but I personally rather like what it has become.
If it had stayed as it was then we would have ended up with the characters still acting like high school kids despite being far too old. It's something I had a problem with in the later seasons of 'Friends' where I so often just found myself wishing they'd start acting their ages
Oh, and as for Worst Episode Ever - it's got to be 'Beer Bad'!

season 2 definately! then s3 and s1...after season 3 something changed...
The writing, the acting and the directing plus the pretentious (non) soundtrack.

The end credits were quite good though.

Best at present must be S3 - Faith, evil vampire Willow, I'm shallow.
S2 is a strong second , but depending on how S6 pans out it could be pushed down into 3rd place.
Difficult to rate S1 as it was the first season, and S1's are always tricky. As first seasons of shows go it was pretty good.
Prefer S5 to S4.

Sorry guys, I agree with Inc.
I felt this was one of Joss's 'concept episodes' (for want of a better description) like 'Hush', with him experimenting with the lack of soundtrack and the style of delivery. However, unlike Hush, I felt this didn't work at all.
It was extremely slow paced and very little happened. I felt the delivery of the emotions could have been so much better and this didn't require the whole episode.
Joss has shown in the past that he knows how to deal with grief. The final two minutes of 'Passion' for example were extremely emotionally charged and fantastically done. It's a shame he, IMO, couldn't repeat that in 'The Body'.

I tend to regard eps of most shows as being either "arc", "concept" or "monster of the week"; and personally I'd be happy if buffy (and all other shows) were only ever "arc" or "concept" as even a bad concept show is better that one based around random wandering monsters. As for "The Body" in particular, I'd have prefered them to cut the obligatory fight scene.

Basically I think that The Body was Joss' "I want to be taken seriously, dammit" episode. No matter how sucessful or popular you are, there is no substitute for peer approval. By making a more serious episode, he was hoping to showcase his talents and remind certain awards comittees that he's not just making a teen drama...
However, in practice The Body was ponderous and jarringly out of place in the middle of an already crowded season. Although it was an excellent piece of technical work and well executed by the cast, it then missed the whole point by inserting a vampire at the end.
Nice concept - bad episode.
Ah well - maybe the Emmy voters will take pity on him and give him a retrospective award for "Hush"

My understanding of the fight scene was that it indicated that depsite the personal situations in Buffy's life, she had a duty that had not gone away and that she had to fulfill.
As a fan of the show, objectively, I cannot think of a year when I would have thought it merited an Emmy award because there has always been something better.

Well, it is interesting to see what other people percieve to be the best seasons. I've yet to come across someone who disliked season 3(or 2 for that matter). IMO two of the best seasons back to back. That said, season 5 was a great season with not a single really bad episode(worst was probably out of my mind). BBC viewers, I urge you to watch it all in one go because it is that much better for it. Season 4 had good individual episodes, but a storyline that just did not gel as a whole. Season 6 has been on an absolute rolloercoaster(rollercoster being the objective word with it starting to come downhill now(3 poorish episodes in a row)) and from what I've heard its only going to improve.
As for Angel, I absolutely loved season 1. Season 2 was good, and when the main Arc kicked in it was fantastic. But a very poorly done ending spoiled it for me. Totally ruined a good season's work IMO.

If I had to choose I would say S3.
S4 had some of my fav episodes i.e. "Hush","New Moon Rising","Restless".

Series 2, Because Xander was still funny, Spike was still bad, Angel went evil, which was a great storyline, and Willow was all cute and innocent schoolgirl.
Those were the good old days, were the scoobies seemed a tight knit gang, but now they have all these confusing people, like Anya and Tara and sort of Spike involved.
Series 3 was also very good, but it didn't have that same scoobiness for me, plus the wasnt enough Angel, and he was all broody, less fangy!

Season 3 without at doubt...the whole storyline of Angel and Buffy trying to stay away from each other is good...the passion that sizzles underneath the surface for them...they dying to get together but can't...
I feel that my other half and me are like that atm only me being Angel and he Buffy (lol)...we cant be together atm and its killing us (for reasons i wont divulge).
Also I like S2, agreed with the whole Angelus is a psycho thing was just totally cool.
But i liked the Episode in Season 4 when Angel came back and kicked Riley's butt!! totally cool and that excellent grin Angel had on his face.
