I thought this was quite good...it's a bit late in the season to introduce some new super villain though isn't it?? Caleb seems to be a strange one...it'll be interesting to find out more about him, why he's so strong etc. What really shook me in this was the casualness with which some of the characters were hurt/killed. 2 Potentials killed(inc one of the original 3 if I wasn't mistaken but I can't remember her name), the black girl having her arm broken, Kennedy (Mmmm) getting her ass handed to her and the most shocking moment Xander getting his eye poked out..which is what I'm guessing happened cos it seemed to me that they cut a touch from the ep there. Not very many episodes left I don't think so it'll be interesting to see where they go with it all. Faith and Spike's convo in the basement was quite funny as well.
buffy-the one where faith comes back!: Dirty Girls
this was better than the last few, but of course considering faith was in it of course it would be! i love the dialoge between buffy and faith and faith and spike,so funny. This caleb is interesting, an old time preacher whose become a disciple of the first. now when he kicked the scoobies and buffy/faiths butt does that mean hes got superpowers from the first cos he doesnt seem to have any special difference to me, just another preacher loonie!
be interested to know if the bible belt of the USA has had any problems with the Caleb character .(if they watch it at all considering it talks about demons and witches and all sorts of non good christian things!!!:devil
(just including the episode title- Keeny )

I loved this episode. Caleb sent shivers down my spine, he's a true big bad to be dealt with, and so close to the finale too... he was genuinely scary.
Faith is back!, yeah!.. and since when did she smoke?.. i suppose it's a habit she learned in prison.
And i was going to ask whether the scene with Xander getting his eye poked out was edited, because it was a little on the clumsy side. But still incredibly shocking.
Roll on next week!

Yeah, Xander's eye poking was very trimmed. Much more horrific and shocking in the original, which is the point. I think this comes into the 'previously's' from now on as well, so i guess sky will have to cut them too.
Yeah I enjoyed it, great to see Faith back in town and her and Spike scenes were great.
On annoying thing though Calebs accent it sort of took the scaryness of the character away for me, he seems a good actor so why have the lumbered him with such a awful accent

Thought this was a good ep.
Yay Faith is back in Sunnydale.
Liked the interaction between Faith and Spike and Faith and Buffy.
Caleb is pretty nasty.
Poor Xander.

I think Caleb's accent is basically Nathan Fillion's own, maybe with a little exaggeration.
The crazy right-wing Christians are truly horrified by Caleb apparently, but not by the sight of a preacher eviscerating, pummelling, stabbing and snapping the necks of teenage girls. Oh no; they're mightily disturbed by the sight of a man in clerical garm _mocking the last supper_.
Hallelujah.

That seems unlikely, given that he's Canadian. I thought the accent worked okay, myself.

Good episode, Caleb is easily the most effective bad guy they've had in a long time.
I loved this episode - grinned like an idiot during the Xander dream and the Faith/Spike sequence. Great to see Faith back - but I don't remember her voice being that deep and husky??? That's what smoking does for you!
I agree with Dan, Caleb makes an effective bad guy, very creepy. And sooo happy that American Gothic is being repeated next week...

thought it was good-ish - not as good as some of the eps this season (which i have grown to really enjoy)
It took me a while to work out what Caleb was saying at first because of the accent but after the first bit i kinda tuned myself in. Not really sure what i make of him as a villain, i think i'll have to wait and see.
the pokey out eye Xander bit was nasty, that was horrible but very effective nonetheless. I liked Xander's speech about Buffy - as someone pointed out in an earlier thread, the speeches should be left to him not to Buffy
It's cool to see Faith back and also enjoyed her interaction with Spike.
So, yeah, overall a good ep for me

Perhaps Faith smoking would explain why she seems to be speaking with a huskier than usual voice?
Anyway, good ep, slightly spoilt by Sky's ham-fisted editing. No, I haven't seen the uncut versions but with all the jumping about, it is obvious to anyone that they did a substantial hatchet job so I'll have to wait till S7 comes out on vid to see what it really looks like.
I wish Caleb had killed the black Potential as she is truly annoying and, I'm sorry to say that I did get a little kick out of Caleb breaking her arm. Should shut her up from whining for a bit!
And at least we won't have to put up with the 'British' Potential's dodgy accent anymore. Hurrah for small mercies!
I'm really glad that this season is this dark with the regs getting battered and maimed because I hate the fact that a lot of shows and movies have to have happy conclusions and wrapped up neatly. I don't want this for Buffy. I want it to be gritty, dark and final.
And it looks like we might be getting that.
Another great ep.

Good to have Faith back, her dialogue is still as fantastically witty as it used to be which is great (*buffy punches Faith* 'sorry I didn't see that was you' 'it's alright, good job you still punch like you used to' and after Xander's slightly cheesy (okay very cheesy) speech about Buffy 'I never knew you were that cool' hehe).
Xander annoyed me, like usual. It was cool to see Faith and Spike catch up after the warm champagne scene.
Molly no-one else here seems to care! She was well cool. It was sad because she dies because she shouted 'noo' when the other slayer was killed. It was good the way all the SITs stuck together and stuff.
The ending with Caleb's voiceover with Buffy walking was cool. But I hate Caleb. So evil.
