It was on the cards for Anya not to make it. Apart from her sparkling wit she was a spare part towards the end. And teaming up with Andrew made it certain she would get killed!
I think it was cheesy that Andrew survived after all his talk of not making it. He had no fighting skills, was party to murder, and now has Anya's death on his conscience. He gets my vote for the chop!
Buffy had already died twice - she had to make it and that meant Dawn also to keep a happy ending for the Summers family.
Willow sort of was granted forgiveness I guess 'cos her hair went white instead of black. But she had also murdered I think she should have died doing the spell. I suppose that would have been too bleak an ending (but somehow more moral.)
I wouldn't have killed Wood off but if he was going to get wounded and play hero in driving the bus then stop breathing I would have let him go.
Xander? Well he's survived so many certain death situations I think he's secretly immortal!
So my casualty list would have been -
Anya
Andrew
Willow
Wood
And of course Spike (aka William the Champion!)
SamphiretteTo you I guess I'm just a clown who picks you up each time you're down
I'm sorry but Buffy and Spike would have got my vote for sure.
That would have made it more final if she had actually died in the middle of a fight scene.
Sydney You can lead the whore to culture but you can't make her think!
Before watching the final ep i would have said that Willow dying would have been a good ending, as it is I think the hope that was symbolised in the ones that did survive was a fantastic end. Anya and Spike were the right choices I felt
