A friend has just mailed me a copy fo the pilot, which I'll probably end up watching at some point over the weekend. I'll let you know what I think...
Tru Calling - starring Eliza Dushku
Have just watched the pilot episode of this (cheers Stoo for the help with my pc ) , and thought it was absolutly brilliant - can't wait for it to come over here
It stars Elzia Dushku (which is reason enough to watch), as Tru Davies - a recently graduated morgue assistant, who talks to dead people. It's kind of like Sixth Sense meets Groundhog Day, where Tru relives the day to prevent the person from dieing, while sorting out her own screwed up family problems as well.
And you get to see Eliza running around lots Baywatch style (but no red bikini unfortunatly).
With Buffy now ended, and a much needed replacement required, i think this could take over quite easily.

Sounds like you may wish to add Quantum Leap to the list of series being 'namechecked'.

Yeah, heard it being referred to Quantum Leapsomewhere else. Not exactly an original concept bur sounds intriguing enough to give it a go.
Yeah yeah... talk to the hand. There are only two reasons why you plan to tune in.

I'd love to see the Pilot for this...where has everyone got their copies from?? I've tried Kazaa and EBay to no avail
I got my copy sent to me by a friend. I'm not too sure about this one and it should definitely be renamed 'Tru Running'
It seemed rather bland and rather slow paced to my usual programmes. I will however be giving it another chance and watch the next few episodes just for the sake of Eliza.

According to SFX, this show has now been renamed just Tru and is currently being extensively reworked. Some parts have been recast, and they are in the process of rewriting and reshooting.
It's now scheduled to air in Spring 2004 (although still being trailed in the US as "coming this fall" )

No, I'm sure this has been superseded by what I've read on the BBC's cult site and elsewhere. The pilot has been be rewritten and is being re-shot and won't be shown now until the Spring as Kate said.

I read that it's on American tv on Oct 30th.

i found some of the acting very cornball (think joey from friends and what he calls fart acting) but i'll watch it coz it's eliza and i'll support whatever role she takes and to also hope it gets better if they are rewritting and reshooting then it might be already. it wont be a replacement of buffy for me though.
Started last night in the states & fox have posted the first act on the Tru Calling website

But when's it coming to the uk? I've seen the pilot and the next episode and it gets better. I've also read some of the reviews in SFX and the recent ones say its improving which is good.
I'm kind of in two minds about the shows success i'm a huge fan of Eliza Dushku so I want it to do well but at the same time I would prefer it if there were a Faith series-such a better character.
Anyway I still really wanna see tru calling. does anyone have any idea when it might be on???

Not sure if I like this one, can't quite like the story line. And all I can see Eliza is as Faith anyone know if its coming to the UK?
Its coming to Sky One either next month or in April. I can't remember which. Someone wrote into the Sky Letters on Sky text and they said when it was scheduled but i forget which, but it'll be soon
Had another look and according to Sky Text, Tru Calling gets its UK premiere on Sky One mid April, no exact date given.
