Thought it was pretty good.
Dead Like Me Sky 1 Friday
A chance to catch a cool (well i like it) Series from the Stateson Sky one at 9pm
Its about a teenager who, on her death, becomes a reaper, catching souls as people die and directing them on to the afterlife.
Its very funny & sarcastic although I dont know whether the swearing will get cut.
Oh and its got Mandy Patinkin in it too.

Well despite my ntl box going to pot and the soundtrack being comprable to a bowl of Rice-crispies, I enjoyed the second epp. It wasn't great, but it continued the wonderful zanyness of the pilot (the toliet seat tree!) and the Doyle-clone's encounter with a parking truck made me laugh out loud. The autopsy scene was genuinely creepy, they seem to have a real knack for that.
Noticed some characters chucking round F-bombs within the first few minutes, so I assume Sky haven't got their scaples out for this one.

Hell yeah. Quite spooky, in fact

Is it me or does Mason remind anyone of Doyle?
I actually managed to miss the second one, because I had Teresa over and she refused to watch it as she'd missed the pilot. I have Telewest digital so don't get Sky One Mix. I'll definitely watch next week though.
i adore this programme! i've even started d/l the future episodes (not worth doing on my pooter usually coz it takes forever) i really liked the grims in the opening credits that made me giggle and seeing mandy in action again (i missed the whole of chicago hope) last thing i think i saw him in is Princess Bride though im sure ive seen him in other stuff i just dont remember.
The girl who plays george is a bit of a hottie i reckon (and her real name surprised me, her middle name) anyway now im jusy babbling in short: great show!

IU caught the second episode and i loved it! I think most of the humour was lost on my parents, so i'm gonna have to record it in future. I've never seen as funny a set of opening credits ever How fab is Reggie?!? The sequence with what happens to a dead person if the soul isn't taken was really chilling and the deaths are hilarious. My only problem is seeing how they can contuniue the concept across
a whole series, but i guess they can otherwise we couldn't be seeing series two!

Just watched 1:3 Curious George.
I'm amazed at how good the writing and acting of all those involved is. The comic is interwoven with the sad and upsetting so well that it doesn't appear odd. I always find myself silently applauding the writers in the way that, throughout an episode, I can feel angry at the way Rube and Roxy treat George. And then, they show so much compassion for her situation with the simplest of actions and/or words.
Despite repeated warnings from Rube, George still went back to her home and it was exactly the traumatic experience he predicted it would be and that's why he had been so hard with her. Depite her reservations about Rube's sincerity, as when he asked after her at the beginning of the ep, the little scene with them both at Der Waffle Haus showed how much he cares for her and empathises with her adjustment with her undead life.
And, again, the way Roxy turned up after George's disasterous visit to her home was really well done. Roxy really can be a surrogate mum to her if she lets her, just as Rube is trying to be the surrogate father. The way in which Roxy touched George's hair was much like how a mother would do while comforting a daughter.
Anyway, I really do like the way that we're being shown the different, and difficult, stages George is having to go through. At Happy Time, she is now realising how much she wants to be a part of the boring, mindless life she ignored while alive. She is realising how important it is for people to feel included to be really feel 'alive'.
Finally, I love the way in which, each week we're being shown snippets of the other reapers' past lives. Like, last week, we were shown how Mason died back in the Sixties. And, now, we know that Betty died back in the Twenties very young. Can't wait to see how both Rube and Roxy met their deaths...

Another strong episode tonight, though George's "trying to beat fate" riff has well and truly run out of steam now, so I hope they move on. Mason's drug mule escapades with the burst condom were hillarious -- "I have illegals up my bottom!" -- someone writing this show has a virtuoso sadistic sense of humour. The line "He is not your role model" cracked me up, as did his comments on his (rhymes with "bank" though I think someone on the writing staff got the meaning a bit confused there! He's easily my favourite character, and becoming more like Sickboy by the week. George's "Penthouse" confession to change fate was equally inspired.
I missed Betty, she's a class act, I hope we get some flashbacks to her in the 1920s. The office politics were quite amusing, though the "I could replace a broken lightbulb, but the smell of dog**** would linger" line was a bit much. The brief appearance of the demented gravlings was much more sucessful, the little critters sure know how to bear a grudge.
Like all new series, it's very disjointed at first, but like all *good* new series, it's filled with wonderful little bits of promise you can see gestating into a great production given time.

Kinda guessing you are up to episode 4 by now on this show. My first impression was that George has a rather wide mouth but I think the show is hilarious with very sad & deep moments in it.
The gravelings are fantastic & more than a little creepy. Thanks whoever said the Doyle connection as I was thinking he reminded me of someone but couldn't put my finger on it
Sky has to keep this show & air all 14 episodes. This is definitely in my top 10 shows of this year!

Yep, epp four it is.
SkyOne had better show the lot, ntl don't provide this "Mix" channel people talk about as the graveyard of new series.
I can understand flogging a series at the end of a season if it's not pulling the punters, but giving something you shelled out for the kiss of death after a few weeks is just as crazy as Olaf the Hairy's order for 1000 helmets with the horns on the inside.

1:4 Reapercussions
What a funny ep! Mason just gets better and better every week. And the little 'feud' between George and Crystal was brilliant!
And I almost spat out my beer at the bit where Delores is telling George about her 'examination'. The look on George's face was priceless.
Each character is brilliantly written and has made me laugh out loud already which, after only four eps, is pretty amazing.
The only slight criticisms I would have would be, yes, I think they've done the whole 'cheating Fate' thing to death now (no pun intended). And I think Ellen Muth needs to improve her crying a tad because it doesn't sound genuine yet.
Other than that, another top ep!

I am loving this show I hope it catches on over here.
I get sent the Sky mag (which is stupid I miss the old one that actually give you the shows listings for the whole month) and in it was a picture of the Dead Like Me cast.
Sorry to be a pain, chickaboo, but part of your post was bordering on spoilers, or, at least, encouraging them. If you need to find out more about what happens on DLM, check out the following two sites that have spoilers and posting boards where the future eps are discussed:-
Grim-Reapers
Dead Like Me Online
I do kinda know the answer to the question you asked but I found out inadvertantly and I'm trying to avoid any spoilers.
Cheers

Goodness, what an episode!
It caught you standing as well, but thinking back there were loads of hints all the way through. What a great way to knock the series for six right from the start, and keep the mystery going.
Have to confess I had a wee bit of a lump in the throat at the post-it at the end.
More, more I say!

Sorry Whistler, didn't mean to spoil it for anyone next time I'll be more careful.
Just watched tonights ep, WOW. This show gets better and better, I have to admit I'm hoping George and Mason will get together. And that we get to learn more details about Reapers and 'Heaven/Hell'.

Just to let you all know.
'Dead Like Me' is on at 10:30pm next friday (24th Oct)
and as the little series link icon hasn't shown up. It might not be on next week or it could be on Sky One Mix.

Oh just marvelous. Heading towards a graveyard slot already.
Though it turns out I do have Mix, buried away at channel 930. Which won't do much good if Sky don't pick it up for a second season!

Panic ye not, people!!
It's only been shoved back because of the World Stunt Awards this week. I'm sure it'll be back at it's 9pm slot the following week.

Just watched S1:5 Reaping Havoc and what another stunning ep it was!
I kinda knew what was going to happen with Betty because I'd inadvetantly read something about it on another site. But it was still a beautiful way for her to go out. She was so sweet to George in this episode and, again, I love the little heart-to-heart she had with Rube in DWH at the end. George is so desperate for a friend now that she's even connecting with Delores.
And, yeah, I agree, chickaboo, I hope that Mason and her get together in the end.
Speaking of Mason, even though he was still trying to cash in on the death of his 'client', his conversation with her and the 'burial' he gave her speaks volumes about his true nature.
I can't wait to next week because, having seem some spoliers and seen some of the ep at Nos, it promises to be another corker!
PS. And, is it me, or is Georgia getting hotter every ep?

This was a quiet episode after last week’s emotional trainwreck, but none the worse for it. Betty’s replacement Daisy was a superbly realised pastiche of every golden-age Hollywood leading lady. From baptising Mason’s nethers with coke to treating George’s apartment as her own, she was sharp as a pin; I see much mischief afoot there. Deloris irritated me at first, but she’s now become so deliciously insane the character’s totally won me over; giving David Brent-esque pep talks on staff moral one minute, then graphic homilies about coke addiction the next! “Remember Saide and how he screwed us over … Punjab mother---------” was completely unexpected and also the funniest dialogue of the episode.
Using the bowling tournament as a metaphor for George’s self-esteem could have been a mawkish disaster, but they played it perfectly, especially knocking the inevitable uplifting finale splendidly off kilter with George's “hand on my ass” line. Her sister is one deeply messed up kid, but they’re keeping her from turning into a Gothic cliché so far; as they are with stopping her mother descending into a neurotic parody.
I note Dead Like Me is aping Six Feet Under in one respect – the deaths are getting ever more outlandish. Tonight’s fatality by watercooler was inspired!
The only negative I can think of is thereÂ’s two more weeks till the next (two) episodes.
