I've been reading that a new series of this is to be aired on the US Sci Fi channel in December.

Anyone have any clues as to wether we are going to get this over here?

Saw Part 1 on Sky Movies 2 at a mates place last night...

It is absolutely excellent!!!
Whoever made it has been watching firefly, a lot of the shots have the same handheld feel, and there are a lot of similarly placed crash zooms.
They've also chosen to follow B5 & firefly's example by trying to make the physics as realistic as possible, ie no sound in a vacuum, all the ships and fighters use thrusters to turn - OOH and they turn on their axis - rather than turning like atmospheric fighters in the original series and Star Wars/Star Trek.

All in all very cool.

Can't hardly wait till part 2 at 9 tonight

I watched it last night too, I was kinda shocked at the rumpy pumpy going on in the first 10 mins after all it is a 12!!!

I thought it was good, its hard to stop thinking about the old one but I'm getting there

Just had a look at the Galactica website & it's been picked up by the Sci Fi Channel for 13 episodes

I watched both parts last night and was very impressed, so I'm really glad it's been picked up as a new series

Went round my mate's place again - he'd paid their sky bill - last night's show was excellent - didn't expect them to show the whole thing in one go!
Loved the final battle - not quite up to B5 standards, but hey it was only the one battlestar, not an interstellar fleet...
Will have to get this on DVD and watch it on a projector
Freaky how everyone was gettin it on everytime they had a breather....wonder if the series will be like that...
Kinda indicates this is for the folks that watched the original series...cool

I thought it was class, although having starbuck as a rather lovely lady was a shock, the battle scenes being silent was superb and the new cylons !! evil !!thought they got it spt on although i still prefer vthe original for fracks sake !!

Just finished watching the new version of Battlestar Galactica o­n dvd, and it was AWESOME. I was a bit dubious when I heard about it at first, especially as rumour had it that Starbuck and Boomer were being played by women, but I was pleasantly surprised. Starbuck is fab... very tough chick, and completely bonkers, lol. Boomer is played by Grace Park, who played Lt Satterfield in the SG-1 ep "Proving Ground"... took me till about halfway through to click where I'd seen her before, it was bugging me senseless, lol.

Got a nice nostalgic twinge when they launched the old Viper mk2 fighters.... was nice that they brought a bit of stuff through from the old o­ne, instead of just using the redesigned Mk 7's. Took me right back as the Mk2 was whizzing through the launch tube, felt like I was ten again, lol.

So the series kicks off on Sci-fi at the end of the year? Coooool, at least I now know I'll have something to watch o­nce Stargate SG-1 takes its final bow... Wheeeee, weekly brand new Apollo, Starbuck, Battlestars, Vipers and Cylons... damn , I've reverted to ten years old again, lol.

New series starts tonight!!!

I'm loving it - its great to have a decent scifi show to watch again!

Loved the little touch in the mini series first episode, where the flypast of the Vipers at the decommissioning ceremony was accompanied by the original Battlestar Galactica theme tune!
