Anyone have any experience of the 'Big Finish' audio dramas that have been released the last coule of years, they star the same actors for the doctor and companions, and recently Anthony Stewart Head did one as the villain.

Ive hear a few, and only Whispers of Terror really stands alongside the TV show.

Mid you I am tempted to get some of the new ones with Paul McGann, he should have been given a chance on TV

I've got all of them so far, and by and large they do an excellent job - highly recommended. The Colin Baker ones show that with a decent script to work from, he can be as good as any of the other Doctors, and Fires of Vulcan (a Sylvester McCoy story) is fun and somehow manages to feature Mel as a decent companion! Truly these people are miracle workers! Next thing you know, they'll manage to make Adric likeable Well, maybe not. Even miracles can only go so far.

Especially worth checking out is the hilarious "The Holy Terror" which stars the sixth Doctor and Frobisher (a companion from the Marvel comic strip of the eighties, a shapeshifter who prefers the form of a penguin) Lots of fun, and managing to be off-the-wall while staying just this side of too absurd.
