I was frightened stiff of Davros in that chair thing with the nasty black lips (or was it black mouth...?). Also the cybermen used to have me reaching for a cushion every time
Hide behind the sofa...
Everyone talks about the daleks being scary, never did a thing for me. The only moment i ever found unsettling was in 'City of Death', when a guy pulled of a latex face to reveal a one eyed lizard bloke underneath.

Not sure what it was called ... but there was a silver robot in the 5 Doctors which responded to movement and fired big spears ... took out an entire squad of Cybermen like they weren't there.
Also ... the creepy *pre* dalek creatures in Genesis of the Daleks.

The vampires in 'State of Decay'. Also the Great Vampire in whichever one that was (I read a great Dr Who-Buffy-TNG fanfic based on that episode once - strange but true!)
And there was a Peter Davison ep set in the English Civil War with something called the Malus which scared me even though I was quite old then.
I can't take Daleks seriously after Eddie Izzard - 'Death or Plumbing!'

That was great how they blamed the Doctor for having a lot to do with the the great fire of London.
Sorry but I was brought up on this stuff, and even have a The Giant Robot junior Doctor Who book signed by Tom Baker (he gave me a jelly baby and played with my slinky!)
The Giant spider gave me the creeps, and I still don't like them.
I also cried when they killed off Adric, yeah I didn't like the Cybermen either, till I met one(rather yummy actor, ooh!)

Ha Daleks, Pah! nothing. It was the cybermen who had me quaking behind teh sofa (literally btw) Oh and Bonnie Langford had pretty much the same effect too
I was scared silly of Grotbags the Witch!!!! How sad was I ?? I had this big thing against anyone in costume when I was young. even had a problem with clowns!
I spent half my childhood either behind the sofa - or just a cushion!
I remember the lizard one vividly - it's all come back to me - I'm off to hide behind the sofa now!

I think that Adric was the only companion to ever be killed all the others just left the doctor.

(I think he must have BO )
Okay, at the risk of sounding like a geek, Adric wasn't the only companion to be killed off.

Katarina, a companion of the first Doctor, was killed off in the fouth episode of The Dalek's Master Plan when she opened an airlock door during a struggle with an insane criminal called Kirksen, and was sucked into space with him.
Appearing in only five episodes, she was the shortest running of the Doctor's human companions.
Sara Kingdom, another companion of the first Doctor, was aged to death by the effects of the Time Destructor the Doctor used against the Daleks in the final episode of The Dalek's Master Plan.
Technically speaking, Kamelion was a companion of the fifth Doctor and was 'killed' at the request of the Doctor after feeling guilt at being used by the Master.
And, finally, an argument can be made for Perpugilliam (Peri) Brown, the sixth Doctor's companion. Some fans believe she was either married to King Yrcanos at the end of The Trial Of A Timelord, or killed when her brain was overprinted with that of the Mentor Sil. It all depends on what you belive at the end of that story.
So, at least three companions were killed off but an argument can be made for five
