If it's got tribbles and photon torpeadoes, it's Star Trek, everything else is negotiable.
Enterprise is driving the ratings, and whatever good reputation Trek is still leeching from Deep Space Nine down the galactic U-bend. Branagh and Berman are about as fresh as mummified stilton, and must be shown the joys of a P45. Enterprise must be cancelled, it's hopelessly tarnished now. The franchise should be handed over to some new blood, either old blood from another franchise or heaven forfend, a genuine up and coming talent. Give it a rest for a few years, and chance a new show and short memories.
It won't happen that way of course, but after Enterprise finally crashes at Warp 5 Paramount are going to have to sort the mess out, Trek's too valuable a cash cow to loose.
