Didn't like this at all .... it was just dull with a bit of cheesy-ness to it.
Angel 5.06: "The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinquo" Discussion Thread.
Okay, i don't know what to think of this one.
At least we find out about the mail man wearing the mask (or number 5 as everyone called him).
I was torn between thinking it was an utterly awful episode to thinking, actually it's not half bad.
Angel seems to be sliding into depression. He seemed almost disappointed that Tezcatcatl didn't want his heart, even though it wasn't beating or anything. Is he starting to question his ability as a champion with Spike now on the scene.
And Number 5 dragging Angel into his apartment was certainly a unique way of Angel being invited into his apartment.
The final scene in the cemetery was probably the stand out scene in an otherwise mundane episode. That Number 5 was finally reunited with his 4 brothers.

Finally got around to watching this tonight
The part where Angel walked into Wesley's room looking to be of some use during the research mode was handled very well. It makes you realise that all the others (even Gunn mentioned it himself) have their own niches/offices/research mode in this new office environment. Fred has her lab, Wesley has his super books, Gunn has everything in his head (and even goes out fighting in his suit now ) and Lorne ... well ok Lorne only comes out of play mode when there's gossip on the loose. Had to laugh when Angel was thrown through the glass door and within minutes various stories were circulating the office and the net - with Spike being hilarious by twisting it even further
Not a bad story, but definitely one with more hidden depth
This seemed to definitely be a character exploring/building episode. The prophecy of the "vampire with a soul" has already been mentioned on more than one occasion throughout this series to make you wonder whether it is supposed to be hinting at Spike - or not? Even Spike is starting to wonder himself, otherwise he wouldn't have been questioning Wesley.

Cheese aside - at least we had a view (if not a somewhat surprising set of heroes) of how evil had been battled on previous occassions in LA. It's also easy to visualise how a hero could fall down to mail sorting in this day and age when he's no longer or use to himself or the company that hired him as "muscle".

I sort of liked this episode.
The Mexican bits were a bit cheesy and the whole clapping thing that the four brothers did at the end before they attacked the demon, that made me cringe, but the other bits were good. Angel brought up the whole connor thing with wesley, and they both looked really good in this episode
