Oooh I hope so, the laconic werewolf has always been one of my favourite characters simply because of how cool he was, and the fact that he always seemed to be the hero ('The Wish' comes to mind)

Are the "sweeps" something to do with a ratings push? I've heard the term but I'm not sure what it actually is?!?!?

"Sweeps" are the three times of year in the US (November, February, and May) when advertising rates are set for television programs. The rates depend on how many people are watching. So, to make sure the maximum number of people are watching and the networks can charge the maxiumu amount of money per ad, they try to do all they can to lure people to watch during sweeps--special guest appearances by stars, weird plot twists, cliffhangers, special episodes, new episodes, etc. If Seth Green returns during sweeps, it's probably because they can promote his appearance and expect a higher rating for the show.

I know with Angel, we generally get new episodes during sweeps. We had reruns through much of December and January. Then when February sweeps came, several new episodes of Angel aired. Now, we're back to reruns and no new episodes will probably turn up until May sweeps.
