I read that they were holding it back to January and giving it an uninterupted 20 week run. This may be a rumour though.
Its autumn slot will be used to debut the new show by Alias' creator, Lost, which I forgot in the above list!

Yeah, they announced that Alias will be on in January, but they didn't announce it until after i'd posted the thread that Taz just linked to, and i forgot to update it
In that case, I LOVE the new lineup
Seriously though, apart from Global Frequency (which I've nothing about) & Stargate Atlantis (which I've heard dubious things about) I'm very much looking forward to that lineup

Taz - Global Frequency is the tv show of the highly successful comic by Warren Ellis.
Taken from the Global Frequency website:
There are a thousand and one people on the Global Frequency.
A worldwide independent defense intelligence organization with a thousand and one agents, all over the world. Anyone you know might be with them. It's the world's little open secret. You could be sitting there watching the news and suddenly hear an unusual cellphone tone, and within moments you might see your neighbor leaving the house in a hurry, wearing a jacket or a shirt with the distinctive Global Frequency symbol... or, hell, your girlfriend might answer the phone, and then put on her Global Frequency badge and promise to explain later... for all you know, they have your file, and you'll be recruited next... anyone could be on the Global Frequency, and you'd never know until they got the call...
...from Aleph, central dispatcher for the Global Frequency, getting her orders from Miranda Zero, creator and operator of the organization. Not her real name, but the only one you're getting. Her real name and identity were erased from the world's records the moment she went into business for herself. Global Frequency is run on the cash she made doing bad things in the Nineties, and on the hush money paid her by the G-8 industrialized nations for...
...for what the Global Frequency does. Clearing up after the 20th Century. Keeping an eye on the bad mad things in the dark that the public never found out about. All the black projects, the mad science, the chilly encounters with the unknown, the Cold War traps... they're all sitting there like landmines. Eventually someone will trip over one of them. Global Frequency are there to catch them when they fall, and defuse the mines before they explode into mainstream consciousness and cause more pain and horror than they already have...
Are you on the Global Frequency?
Neededless to say, as a huge Warren fan I'm looking forward to this; hopefully the WB will treat it right.

Smallville - way behind on this, going to have to stick with dvd releases!
Enterprise- seriously lost interest, not sure how I made it to the end of season 2
Alias & Tru Calling - loving both of these Alias can't put a foot wrong for me, and although I'm only 6 eps into TC I'm really enjoying it so far
Stargate, Stargate Alantis and Dead Like Me - Looking forward to all of these, Stargate never puts a foot wrong either, and Dead Like Me is utter class
Midseason debuts:
Global Frequency
Doctor Who
Not heard of Global Frequency until Morph posted the above. As for Doctor Who, it used to be great in it's day, but have other scifi shows already covered everything the Timelord is capable of

Well, if anyone's interested, you can spy the teaser trailer of the premiere of DLM's second season here
Not sure I like Ellen's hair (very Carmen Electra from Starsky and Hutch!) but maybe it won't stay that way.

I'll be watching Alias, Smallville, Tru Calling (got 16 episodes of the first season download and still to watch ), Enterprise, DLM, CSI, CSI Miami, Global Frequency... tv rules
That write-up of Global Frequency does sound kinda interesting... So does anyone know if it always focuses on a certain group of GF memebers or if every episode is set in a different place and features a different person 'getting the call'?
PoF, the source material was always one or two new people every issue, so I expected that in the tv series, but that would make it an anthology really which is harder to sell as theres less reason to stick with a show week to week.
I HOPE they are having one main recurring character and twin him with someone else every week as a compromise, I hope its not an attempte to have a Mulder and Scully type pairing again.
Much of the tension of the series was that it was just one or maybe two guys in a life or death situation, I wouldnt want it to be 3 or 4 people, charlies angels style.
On the upside Warren Ellis who speaks his mind under any circumatances says the script is great though, on the downside the showrunner doesnt have the greatest pedigree

Well people keep trying to kill it off and replace it with reality rubbish.

So what do people think about the sate of genre tv now?
Smallville: After this seasons finale can't wait to see next season.
Enterprise: Its starting to build up but to be honest not bothered one way or the other.
Alias: cant wait to see what they are going to do next season after this one.
Tru Calling: Thats excellent news that a second season has been commisioned Eliza Running about a lot and a damn good show especially the End of the season.
Stargate/Stargate Atlantis: Well after a pretty lackluster Season 7 of Stargate which is seriously missing O'Neill who knows what to hold for Atlantis. Atlantis may be good with new blood, but SG-1 i think its time to call it a day.
DLM: An excellent little show who knows what weirdness will come next. And cheers Whistler for the preview a wierd trailer but its what I expect.
Global Frequency sounds intresting but also sounds like it could easly be done great or rubbish.
Doctor Who: Just let the show die
Farscape Peacekeeper Wars: Proof that fan power can work, but now I want my tv movies of Now and Again and John Doe.
And the cancelled show that there are rumours of another Network picking up is Wonderfalls, A quirky little show very much in the DLM vein (similar sort of humour/style) but completely different.
And not genre but I hope Scrubs get renewed as Ive just got into it.

Scrubs *so* should be classed as cult - it's fantastic and witty and fantastic and not to be missed, and did I say it's fantastic

I hope this makes it to dvd release
I suppose with the imaginary sequences it may just make it.

Im surprised people are being so hostile towards the idea of Doctor Who, its been made clear that it will be a radical update, perhaps as Next Gen was to Classic Trek, worth a try surely?
Ah but I may have watched Classic Trek, but I never liked it except for the laughable monsters (Kirk could fall into that category )

I watched Dr Who until Peter Davidson, and then all the *other* docs after that bored me witless. You just can't recapture Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee or Baker. Davidson went down a notch and then it fell from there for me.
If they can bring it up to a more modern scifi dark nature, then I may consider it. I was still hoping for Alan Davies to make it funnier - but that ain't going to happen
Bad memories of Sylvester McCoy

Couldnt agree more, after Davison is was down hill all the way to a orribly embarassing end.
Still jazzed about the return tho.
