THE new Doctor Who is going to face an enemy even worse than the Daleks in the shape of David Beckham. In the new series, aliens intent on conquering Earth use the waxworks in Madame Tussauds to terrorise the capital.
A lifelike dummy of the 29-year-old football star will lead a horde of waxwork celebs in a raid on Downing Street.
Becks, the leader of the sinister celebrity army, will blast everything in his path with a ray gun.
BBC bosses are pitting the Time Lord against modern day figures.
The models, who appear in an episode called Aliens of London, are under the control of a deadly extra-terrestrial race known as the Autons.
The aliens have no physical form but attack humans by manipulating anything made of wax or plastic.
A show insider revealed: 'They plan to replace Tony Blair and George Bush with lookalikes from Tussauds but that fails so they bring a whole host of plastic celebrities alive.
'Doctor Who has often been derided over the years for its wobbly sets and pepper pot monsters but not any more.'
Ninth Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston, will come face to face with the waxworks in one of the first episodes of the 13-part series, to be screened next year. Filming begins in July.
Former pop star Billie Piper has landed the role of the Doctor's sidekick.
The 22-year-old, married to Chris Evans, plays feisty Rose Tyler, who has psychic powers.

If they follow that standard then it looks like it'll be headed for cancellation in very short order, as well has further ridiculing the sci-fi genre.
At this rate nobody will be interested in making new sci-fi and we'll end up with even more crap "reality tv" than ever before..
