As a fan of Stargate let it die, it just aint got the same buzz anymore.
Stargate SG-1 season 9?
I've just been reading an interview with Amanda Tapping in the July issue of SFX, and it seems there are now rumours that the long running sci-fi show may go to a ninth season.
Amanda said in the article that-
"We are starting to hear rumblings about a ninth season. But I think a lot depends oÂn how Stargate Atlantis does, and whether they take off in their own right."
So SG-1 may carry oÂn jumping through the gate for another year, and I know I'd be very happy if it does- unlike a lot of shows, SG-1 just seems to keep getting better and better- okay, so there have been hiccups, I know that there are a lot of people who were extremely upset about the Doc, and the Sam/Jack shippers hate Pete with a vengeance, but oÂn the whole I'd say that each year they keep raising the bar.
I'm certainly keeping my fingers crossed- with so many good shows being cancelled, Angel, Farscape and Firefly to name but a few (although the Farscape mini series is now well and truly in production, SFX have some screen shots this month, and the Firefly movie, Serenity, is also clipping along nicely) it would be great to have SG-1 for a little longer, as long as it doesn't get as silly as the X-Files did in its death throes, I was so disappointed in S8 and 9... They should really have knocked it oÂn the head when David Duchovney wanted to leave. But that isn't an issue for Stargate- okay, RDA has a far less intensive schedule, but he's still going to be there.
Comments, opinions?
