It's still pretty much rumour posted by someone on the DLM that I'm a member of. An official statement has yet to be made my Showtime.

But it looks like that, in their battle for TV ratings against other networks, Showtime have pulled the plug on 'Dead Like Me' after just two seasons

Like I say, it's still rumour but the guy who runs the DLM site I post on had been contacted by one of the writers pretty much saying that a cancellation was on the cards, despite the fact that a complete third season had been written.

If the rumour mill is to be believed, Bob Greenblatt, the president of Showtime, did an about turn after a 12 episode third season had supposedly been agreed.

If this rumour proves to be true, it is another kick in the teeth for fans who fall victim to TV execs who are seeking the next ER or X Files over an innovative piece of programming that, given time, could have also been a big hit. After all, it had already received critical acclaim.

I'm pretty much getting sick and tired of getting into shows only to have them pulled. I will have lost two shows in 'Tru Calling' and 'DLM' in the last few months after only a combined three and a bit seasons. It's making me very wary about ever watching a new show in the new future.

If it all proves to be true, then it kinda puts a dampener on 'Death On Vacation' next month. As it was, ticket sales were low because Sky One decided not to show Season 2 in the September to December slot they did with Season 1 last year. Still, it could mean that those attending, with Ellen, make it an event to remember. Here's hoping.

I loved this show because it was different from the usual cult shows out there. It was funny, sad, thought provoking, quirky; usually all in the same episode.

Perhaps another network will pick it up and give it a go. But I somehow doubt it.
