Bones 1x01

Our favourite vampire knight is shining armour is back, only this time not as one of the undead..... but as an FBI agent. Teamed up with novelist / forensic anthropologist Dr. Tempernace Brennan trying to solve crimes in their own distinct way.

Overal a very funny new drama series.... but yes, yet another crime series, although given, with somewhat more comedy than CSI.

In the first episode we meet part of the teams behind both the main characters whilest they try to get along with each other and solve crimes at the same time, while using some funky technology. Apparently both main characters have some history together, although we get some gist of what happened between them it will most likely be explained further through the season.

Overall it's nicely done but will it be able to stand up to all the other Wednesday Tv shows kicking off from next week onwards on US tv? I'm glad they at least gave it a 1 or 2 week head start so people can get familiar with it a little before it has to battle other shows like Smallville / Lost etc for the timeslot. Will our favourite vampire be able to charm the viewers once more or will this series not make it through its first season......? Atleast he is giving it a good go!

i actually managed to get a look at this (although i'm in scotland)..through some sneaky downloads...showed promise...can't wait to see how it develops as it beds down...it's like a mixture of csi/silent witness/and x-files(in regards partnership).

has had good reviews in the US press..so wait and see...

Keenangel *Fourteen phonecalls a night??!!*

Apparently it did extremely well in the ratings too... Go Bones!!!.

I've heard that Sky have bought the rights to this and i can't wait to see it.

Wobag Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so...

Glad to hear it did well in the ratings, but week 1 really doesnt mean much, I recall Firefly, Wonderfalls etc doing ok at the premiere, but that didnt stop Fox cancelling them after only a handful of episodes, and this is on Fox too...

if the ratings stay at doubled from this time last year they should leave it alone

as for Skyone they will be showing it in the new year probably..going by past examples of american shows

We watched this earlier, and I have to say i enjoyed it quite a bit.

It's got elements of a fairly standard TV show, elements of the CSI formula, but it takes itself much less seriously than most of those shows and has quite a sense of humour. The main woman (name escapes me at the moment) was pretty good, as was David Boreanaz, although he didn't have a whole lot to do besides be stoic.

The ensemble cast seemed fairly well rounded. A nice sarcastic bunch, which I like.

lil_miss It's all a moo point, a cow's opinion.

I have to say, Bones left me thinking "ok then, so what". It didn't grab me at all like a lot of recent shows have. I'll give it another few weeks, and i'll watch it if Maffrew does, otherwise, i don't think i'd bother.

It's just another crime-solving show, and to be fair, they've been done.

Keenangel *Fourteen phonecalls a night??!!*

I saw this tonight on Sky One and i must say that i enjoyed it very much.

I'm a fan of procedural drama so the premise of it would interest me even if David hadn't been co-starring it. The big question for me would be whether i'd be able to watch it and not think of David or any vampire type jokes and for 99.99% of the time, i did.

The actress who plays Temperance Brennan (Bones) is played by (i think) Emily Deschanel and i found her to be likeable. There was a good chemistry between her and David and their respective characters and i liked their bickering and banter a lot, i think i enjoyed that mostly. The storyline was formulaic but i think the cast carried it off okay.

It's got me curious enough to continue with it

Yup, have to agree. Very much a 'so what' from me as well. And, unlike Keeny, I just couldn't watch without thinking 'Oh look, there's Angel again'. Does he know anything other than just playing these sort of characters.

Think 'Life On Mars' was much better and, for a British show, that's saying something.
