Could it possibly be? After litterally (almost) an age of the genre being overlooked in the country, or generally mismanaged when it was (Crime Traveller anyone?). It seems we are on the verge of a proper, quality resurgence of science fiction in this country!

Whatever your opinion of it, the new Doctor Who series has been a massive commercial and critical success for the BBC, and it would seem that the genre is in danger of becoming vogue.

The BBC recently announced that it is to produce an 'adult audience' spinoff of Doctor Who called Torchwood (anagram fans take note), which appears to be a modern day 'X-Files' type drama, starring brief Who companion Captain Jack.

Also in production is miniseries 'Life on Mars' about a futuristic detective trapped in the 70's. The BBC are also producing Hyperdrive, a Red Dwarf style comedy starring Spaced's Nick Frost.

ITV meanwhile is producing The Eleventh Hour, a 'science-thriller' series starring Patrick Stewart.

What would you like to see made next, is there a classic series you would like remade, or continued?
