Dead Like Me Grim Reapers to Protest Series Cancellation - 31/10/05
Just to let our DLM fans on site that there is a final push on Halloween (quite apt) to try and persuade Showtime that, just because Bob Greenblatt was an [edit] and cancelled DLM, the show deserves some sort of closure as you can see from the attached email doing the rounds. Let's hope something comes of it...

Dead Like Me Grim Reapers to Protest Series Cancellation
at Showtime Offices in New York
Will Deliver 30,000 E-mails from Disgruntled Fans
WHAT: MediaVillage.com, the leading community website for all those who are passionate about TV, has received more than 30,000 e-mails from disgruntled fans of the Showtime series Dead Like Me since the cancellation of the show was made public before the start of its third season this past spring. On Halloween, multiple grim reapers – in full costume and joined by fans of the innovative series– will deliver the e-mails to the Showtime office in New York. The consensus among fans is that they want Dead to be either revived or wrapped up with a special movie event.
WHEN: Monday, October 31, 11 a.m.
WHERE: Outside the Showtime offices, 1633 Broadway (50th Street)
COMMENT FROM JACK MYERS, EDITOR AND PUBLISHER
OF MEDIAVILLAGE.COM: “Obsessed Dead Like Me loyalists from around the world have been inundating the MediaVillage Sound Off section with strongly worded messages to Showtime executives. Yet, a senior Showtime executive told Jack Myers Entertainment Report that the thousands of protesting fans are just a small fraction of the network's subscriber base. It seems, in this age of video-on-demand and strong DVD sales, that Showtime should and could be more responsive to these loyal and passionate fans. This Halloween protest event is likely the last chance viewers will have to convince Showtime to bring the series back in some form.â€
