just found this - its apparently set 50 years before BSG, and follows the family of the adamas, and is about the creation of the first cylon - so could the family have something to do with it??
also mentioned is a mini-series based on erich von danikens (rather crap, actually) book chariot of the gods - cant quite see how thats going to work, unless they base it on his books in the same way bones is based on the temperance brennan books by kathy reichs, ie not at all...
