What are people experiences with the innumnerable books that are based on Who? Personally Ive read a few of the virgin ones which were fine, and have a few BBC ones still to read.

Unfortunately there seems to be a habit of making Dr Who into Modern Art, ie it seems to be something thats supposed to be so complicate that us mere mortals cant possibly understand it, it seems very self involved, and im not sure thats for the best. Multiple timelines, obscure character references, not exactly accessible, but then i suppose Who has a fixed market already. I cant imagine anyone getting into Who via the books first and the episodes later...
