Hiro is quite possibly the coolest character on TV
Heroes - Potential Spoilers
Has anyone else seen this yet?
I really liked the first episode... I had been a bit concerned after hearing that the pilot had been cut from 90mins to just 60, but it worked really well. I love that our 'heroes' are mostly flawed individuals and how some of the powers are ambiguous. Loved the twist at the end and I think mirror woman, healing girl and painting man all have great potential. And I wonder how the Professor is going to fit into it all...
EDIT - Just found out that the show debuted with 14.3 million viewers and won it's slot, so it performs this well next week we can at least be sure that it won't get cancelled to quickly. Which is good news for me and even better news for Greg Grunberg

'Til I remembered that Isaac 'painted the future', and it wasn't some 'Am I delusional?', Thomas Covenant thing. I shall overlook the slightly tenuous notion that Isaac also 'publishes the future in comic form'...

the Hiro thing looks a bit weird...
Am I right in thinking the series is only halfway through being broadcast in America? I've downloaded to Episode 12, but can't get 13. Haven't watched 9 yet, so no hurry, but is that why it's not available?
Yeps they over halfway though but it seems that you have caught up and will now just have to wait for your weekly dose of Heroes (download wise that is). Seeing as Heroes gets aired on Monday in the states you should be able to download it the next day.
If you check TV.com you can check on the airing schedule in the states. There is also an interview on there which suggests that one of the main characters is being killed off in the February sweeps.

Funny the things you notice when you watch again, now it's on Sci-Fi. That scene with Hiro and Ando in the bar has some blokes singing 'I Want It That Way', dressed very similarly to the ones in that YouTube video. Actually, I just checked my download version and it lacks the close-up of them at the start of the scene that tipped me off to that. Darn, what else is being edited out..?
I am extremely intrigued by this show. Is it supposed to be a similar format to Lost where we find out little bits at a time?
I'll definitely be checking in next week

The short answer to that is 'yes'. It certainly features more than a few jaw-dropping revelations along the way. Not so much in the way of flash-backs, though, except when someone goes back literally. All shows tend to tease the audience with little tidbits, the half decent ones, anyway. The Angel storyline (and 'Ripper' Giles) in 'Buffy' may have started it. Since then, everyone has got to have some dark past in need of re-visiting. 'Heroes' isn't really like that, though. Apart from Sylar, and Nikki/Jessica, obviously, people are pretty much what they appear to be, so far, from what I can tell.
I started watching this on Tuesday and man I'm hooked. Watched 14 episodes in the last 2 days hehe
Hiro rocks!! This is easily my fave tv show of the moment.

Am I the only one who doesn't like this? I have watched up to episode 18. The only things that have kept me watching are Hiro and Claire. Those characters are great and if it was just a show about those 2 i'd probably love it.
However, all the other so called heroes in it, I just find totally boring and find myself almost falling asleep (especially that nikki woman and the copper)when it switches to their stories. I will watch to the end of the season to see what happens, but after that i can't see myself tuning in to the second season if there will be one.

Fair point about Hiro and Claire, but if I was going to pick the next two interesting characters after them, they would be... 'that nikki woman and the copper' (would like to see Clea Duvall back, though). The Claude Rains thing, too, is holding my interest very well. I think you may have a 'short little span of attention', Spike. There's lots to ooh-ah at in this series for most of us...
Hmm I dunno about a short attention span, I just don't feel as though I have grown to really like any of the characters except for Hiro and Claire.
When I think about series such as 'Buffy', I know they are two very different shows and am not trying to compare the shows. However, shows such as 'Buffy' I really got to like the characters. Now I know in Heroes they are not all meant to be squeaky clean nice honest people, but when you look at Spike and Dru in the early days, they were the ones you loved to hate and you still loved them for being evil. In heroes though, even the bad guy I don't hate him, or like him, I don't really feel anything towards him or most of the other characters.

I've just been reading some stuff about Heroes, and something clicked. It probably should have done a while ago, but there ya go.
When Hiro appeared to Peter from the future he said, 'You look different.. without the scar'.
I guess we found out at the end of Parasite where that scar comes from.

I remembered that quote about 10 mins after I finished watching the episode and had a 'd'oh' moment. Now I'm really excited to see how Peter gets out of that situation alive...

I've also heard some interesting bits about the death of one of the heroes at Sylars hands...
Heroes is back this week, whoo.
And from what Wo was telling me, it's now a continuous run through to the finale. Bring it on.

I watched it the other day. Things played out kinda how I expected with the Peter/Sylar fight. Will be interesting to see what Nikki/Jessica does when she finds out what they've done with Micah and also it's interesting to see that all roads seem to lead to New York.
to say ive been a big fan of this from right at the start, its just getting bigger and better - cant wait for next weeks...
We finally got round to watch .07% today and though it was excellent, as usual. I can't wait to see what Nathan and Peter's Mum's power is.
What did everyone think to Five Years Gone?
I really, really enjoyed the episode. Set five years later, we get to see what happens if the bomb in New York does go off. Having said I really enjoyed it, in some ways I hope that bomb doesn't go off, so that the characters are saved from becoming the heart broken, jaded versions of themselves.
The twist of having Sylar in Nathan's place as President was nice. I thought it was very odd that Nathan would sink so low as to genocide, and i'm a bit slow, so the penny didn't drop until he revealed himself to Claire. Duh me.
Seems fairly obvious that it's Peter in the comic, not Sylar, so it would appear that Hiro is going to have to kill Peter!
