Really liked the ep myself and are looking forward to see how it will develop. There should be some more eps airing in the USA soon I guess I got something to look forward to when I'm back from holiday
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Finally caught the pre-air of the first episode of the newest installment in the Terminator franchise. My first thought was 'when/where is this set in relation to the films?' and I figure it's set after T2 and assumes 3 was never made. Which I guess is fine by me.
Overall, I kinda liked it, in a similar 'it's average, but good average' way as Bionic Woman. Whatshername playing Sarah Connor is pretty good (no Linda Hamilton, but she owns that role), and Thomas Dekker is good as John Connor. I liked Summer Glau as the protector Terminator, but didn't think much at all to the bad Terminator. I kept wishing it was Adam Baldwin or Brian Thompson.

Now the show is airing, we're up to episode 4, and i'm really enjoying it. It's not perfect, but the cast is really good. I'm not convinced about the enemy Terminators, but Lena Headey, Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker are all really good, even if Dekker's John Connor is veeery emo.
The action is pretty fast and furious and that's really what Terminator is all about, so i'll be watching for the forseeable future.

lets face it, john connor in T3 was the very embodiment of whiny emo brat...
and i dont think the foreseeable future is going to be very long - this show has apparently been haemorrhaging viewers...

That's a shame as I seriously liked it. Hope they at least finish the season. The story so far is not too bad it's not top notch but definately worth watching would be a shame if they can it.... as it will just be replaced with more reality crap.
The one lifeline for the show might be the strike. The networks have already said that there will be very few new shows next season due to the lack of time to develop pilot scripts and shoot in time.
Networks will be wary about cancelling everything in sight that isnt a mega hit, as they wont have anything to replace it with.
They might also think its worth hanging onto with the upcoming Terminator 4, which would be the best cross-promotion they could get, and for free.

Being a big fan of the Terminator movies (well, 1 & 2 - aint seen 3 yet), I was a bit curious as to how this would work in a TV series format, so made a point of looking out for this show.
I don't have sky, or paid cable, but I seem to get Virgin on my freeview box, so taped all these episodes.
All in all it's pretty good. They have some problem stringing together a season wide narritive, but the production values per episode are excellent, especially the acting.
Having a terminator as a regular character could easily become cliche, but they've done a good job of avoiding that - The terminator learns ballet ep was a pretty good idea that made for some poingnet shots towards the end.
I dunno how much more episodes they can spin-out before it starts to repeat itself (already this turk business is getting a bit boring), but I'll continue to watch it as long as they keep up the good acting.
What was all that Jonny Cash business about in the 'last' episode???
It felt like they though the show was getting cancelled, so they decided to have a bit of fun with it? (I didn't approve)
