A great episode. LOL at Cordy's sitcom. Skip was a great character.
Thought it was interesting to see how things had played out if Cordelia hadn't met Angel at that party.

Yeah, i thought it was a really good episode also.

Charisma's performance was cool, the look on her face when Lorne said that she was "gone"... and yeah Red, that was Skip... and i like him a lot too..

The last human to have those visions, her accent was rather Dick Van Dyke English you reckon?.. she sounded an awful lot like the serving maid from "Amends"...and was the shot of the back of her head edited?.. because you didn't really see an awful lot (not that there would've been much to see i think! )...but it was nice to see Doyle, even though it was on a televison screen and it was a flashback to "Hero".. awww

One little thing that niggled me, was when Skip took Cordy to see Angel talking to the PTB and she heard him say that she was "weak" etc... and she so readily believed that she wasn't part of the gang and told Skip that she wanted the fantastic life she'd previously craved... when i thought that she knew him better than that, and that he was trying everything to save her, and she should've realised that Angel didn't think of her as weak... (she should've stuck around til the end of that conversation).

One armed Wesley was interesting... and Angel.... he was the one "gifted" with the visions after Doyle's death.. and he was literally driven mad.... til Cordelia kissed him... and took the visions back.... selfless Cordy.. who woulda thunk?.. ....

But yeah, i really liked this episode

You're right, but of course what Angel was saying was what the PTBs wanted Cordy to believe at that point. It did seem a little unnecessary though.

None of this made any sense to me until it was suggested by Alex in his review on the old boards that this wasn't actually an alternate reality at all. It was still part of the construct, with the aim of getting Cordy to accept the demonisation. All very manipulative on the part of the PTBs, of course, but otherwise it just doesn't add up (to take one example, Wes says he lost his arm fighting a kungai demon, which happened in 'Parting Gifts'. If he was injured, then Angel probably hadn't met him before he found the demon, so when did they? Never mind how they met Gunn..).

The biggest problem I have though is all the CAT-scans and stuff. Never mind how Fred knew how to read them, but the most recent one apparently shows that Cordy is near death. Surely the hospital would, at the very least, have told her this?

Overall, it's a fun episode, very well executed and of course, good to see the return of Skip, but there are a few niggles I have with it.

i have small problem with how Angels got the visions if Doyle gave 'em to Cordy by kissing her...Skip made a big deal of the fact that Doyle only managed tog ive Cordelia the visions because he loved her...so does that mean Cordelia was able to take the visions from Angel because she loves him? If so..i'm gonna be interested to see how tjhat turns out.

this was a very cool episode... i lve Skip! i didn't see if in the other episode but he rocks! The whole thing about wathcing the Matrix and Gladiator was very funny

Just a quick post, I just LOVED mental Angel!!!

I wouldn't like to speculate on how Angel would've gotten Doyle's visions... probably directly from the PTB after Doyle's death... but i think Cordelia took them back because she hated seeing how Angel was suffering... and i think he played that part exceptionally well... i thought it very hard to remain unaffected by that... very touching i thought


Another part of the ep that made me laugh was when Fred and Gunn went to Cordy's appartment and Phantom Dennis complete with party hat, showered them with sparkly confetti... really sweet and really funny

Again, I really enjoyed this ep. I really like this season. So far it has lived up to the good reports I have heard about it.

I agree with the majority in that it is great to see Cordy growing up a lot.

The scenes with the baby are great too..Angel as a dad is great ! Wesley and the one arm...hmmm...interesting. I liked the conversating between Gunn, Cordy and Wes...'Wes said he knew you, but I didn't believe him'.

i loved this ep, but one thing niggled me. how did Angel get the visions. seems the only way to pass them was through akiss.....hmmmmmm Doyle and Angel, me thinks theres probably a fanfic being written at this moment!

Angel getting the visions is the last thing I'd nitpick. Like, if they were never at the hotel, how did the writing get on the wall? If Cordelia did become a successful actress, would she really stop being the spoilt brat she was at the beginning of series 1? How DID they meet Gunn? There were so many more, but can't remember them! Still, I did enjoy this ep, despite my inability to let these things go.

Yeah I wondered that too - although I'm leaning more towards the fact that Doyle (the giver of the visions) loved Cordelia (who recived them) so in this case does it not mean that Angel (who was the giver) loves Cordelia (who was again the recipient)?

The chemistry there has been growing slowly for a few eps now I never thought I'd think anyone would look good with Angel after the whole Buffy/Angel love story, but I stand corrected. He suits Cordy so much better!

Regarding Angel being the one with the visions: We don't know how Doyle came about to have these visions in the first place (apart from telling Angel that they all had something to atone for), so i'm assuming whichever way Doyle acquired them, would be the way that Angel acquired them.. because to my knowledge, astral Cordy didn't have the visions to begin with, til she took them from Angel at the end...

Agreed with everythinh peeps have said about Skip and Phantom Dennis and the surprise party. What a guy!!

No one has mentioned how very much like 'The Wish' this ep felt like. Okay, it was the PTBs way of making Cordy see how important the visions are to her but the comparison is there.

All this emphasis on making the gang gel and making them a strong, cohesive unit seems to suggest that they are going to face a *big* test by season's end. And before anyone starts shouting 'Spoiler!' at me, this is pure conjecture based on what I've already seen
