Jack is back for a 7th season
After a movie length show 24 is back properly and what can I say..... Jack is back! The first 4 episodes of the new season are very strong and full with excitement and I'm hooked again! I watched the first 4 eps pretty much back to back and cannot wait for next weeks installment.
Anyone else excited about this new season, or as you all Bauered out after 6 seasons?

I must admit that one of the side stories is indeed somewhat dull. I'm sure everyone that watches the show knows which one I mean so no spoilers needed..... hope they "kill" that particular side story off soon

I can't susend my disbelief enough anymore. 24 has got so dull
Besides that I'm really enjoying it so far. For me they got the balance "right" in the sense that it's not a "full action" show but a bit more "real" in a sense. Also I just love the way they work towards a climax and leave you wanting at the end of the show for next weeks ep. It's very frustrating but that's part of its charm for me.
I can fully understand that after 6 seasons it's certain not everyone's cup of tea anymore especially if you consider the wide variety of other TV shows on offer which in their own right are "new and exciting".

I watched the first few episodes of this and thoroughly enjoyed it. The excitement and cliffhangers seemed to be back in action, although we do appear to have a Chloe Mark II.

It seems that season eight's going to be Jack's finale - the series is finally being cancelled.

They are still going ahead with the movies though so not really a chance we'll see Jack actually being killed or anything......

I'm reminded of Spielberg's alleged response to Sir Richard Attenborough, after the latter complained heartily that he thought his character had a brilliant death scene in the original text of Jurassic Park, and he wanted the opportunity to film it:
"What do you want - a death scene or a sequel?"
